Aches and Pains in Perineum Area

Posted , 4 users are following.

This started a little over a week ago, but I noticed a constant dull ache in my testicle region. It was kind of hard to pick out where it was coming from exactly. I at first thought it was my testicles themselves, but my doctor checked them yesterday and said he did not feel any abnormalities.

Shortly after masturbation, I had extreme pain come from that area. It was both a win and a loss since it caused me to lose sleep, but I noticed the pain was coming from deeper than that. It was coming from the area between my scrotum and anus. It feels way more internal. The pain radiated heavily and made me feel very weak.

I have had a sexual partner who is very concerned about me (we only have protected sex; have not had oral either). I have updated her on my condition constantly now. I'm only 26, and this is very concerning. This seems like prostate issues. Your thoughts? I'm currently taking Amox-Clav prescribed by my doctor as he said they have seen bacteria from the colon region enter the testes recently.

I was in a similar position to you 3 years ago, the pain seemed to be in the right testicle, but it wasn't - it was from deeper inside and it did turn out to be the enlarged prostate.  That seems to have improved a bit, just getting occasional episodes of pain and frequent urination, all the usual symptoms of BHP, I am 67.  I saw a specialist at that time and opted to go for keeping an eye on things and I am still in the same position now.  I am rather drawn to the PAE procedure and would like to have that when the time comes.  I have found this forum and people's experiences to be enormously helpful and am very grateful to all who post.

Thank you for your input Robert. My doctor wanted to test for anything sexually transmitted (of course), and everything came back normal. My urinalysis didn't show anything, as well. I sent my doctor a message (we have an online portal dealio) asking where he thinks we should go from here. He put me on amox-clav (basically penicillin), and it's really hard to tell if it's working or not. I would say probably not because it generally works very quickly if it is effective. Hopefully he finds the answers I am seeking. I'm too young to be experiencing these problems, though my uncle did at a young age, too. He had very high PSA levels in his late twenties. Maybe I inherited this.

My understanding is that prostitis doesn't show up in uralysis or blood work. I may show up if they massage your prostate so they get a sample of fluid. Prostitis isn't always caused by bacteria. Sometimes the prostate is just inflamed. I've read of men taking antibiotics for months to clear it up

Well, the good thing is my doctor recommended an ultrasound and then go see a recommended urologist after the appointment. So I will get my answers soon. Thank y'all for your input. I'm feeling better today than I have been, so maybe the antibiotics are working. I know these things can stretch awhile, though.

According to all tests, it has nothing to do with my testicles. I went in for a CT scan and ultrasound of my testes, and nothing came up there. They put me on Ciproflaxacin which I started last night to treat prostatitis. Unfortunately, my doctor said this takes awhile to work because the prostate is highly enclosed and protected. Usually takes about 20 days of antibiotics or even a month. Ugh... Can't believe this is happening to me. sad

I had this happen to  me while in my early 30's.  My problem was from lifting a heavy object.  It somehow caused bacteria from the colon to enter the urinary tract/testicle area/s.  My pain and discomfort were the same as what you are describing.  I was prescribed antibiotics and the problem was fixed.  DO NOT due any weight-lifting until this clears up.  Take it easy, you're going to be just fine.

Scurry, my doctor mentioned this happening (the bacteria from the colon). Gosh, man. I was so scared. That pain was unreal. Almost felt like you just gave me a hug. Thank you. I would never want to go sterile or anything. I'm so young and want to start a family one day. Thank you agian. Both of y'all for your kind words.

How long did it take to go away? I just started antibiotics on Wednesday night. Seeing... I don't know, maybe slight improvement? Definitely some discomfort still there on this Friday afternoon.

In my situation it took 5 - 7 days and I began to feel much better.  Just take it easy and drink plenty of water.

I appreciate it, man. I hope this amox/clav works, but I don't think this is the correct antibiotic for this situation. What did your doctor prescribe you when this happened?

Well, luckily for you this went away quickly. Have you researched prostitis?

Yes. My roommate in college who just finished med school thinks it is that as well. My doctor prescribed me amox/clav (875/125), but my old buddy thinks that was probably not the right antibiotic. He recommended Augmentin, but we will see. All of my blood/urine results came back negative for anything sexually related (I always protect myself anyways), so I will wait for my doctor's word. Unfortunately, normal painkillers only dull the discomfort a little.

Finally went to a urologist last Monday, and I have prostatitis. He knew right away. At least I know what is going on now. It will take awhile to go away, but it has cleared my head.
