When I had mine I was out for what felt like a blink of an eye and surgery was done. I had no idea that I had been in surgery for 6 hours, in my mind I felt like the effects of the drugs were barely taking effect. Nevertheless, once the drugs wear out, expect pain, uncomfortable sleep or lack of sleeo nausea, and the worse headache you've ever experienced. My headaches subsided and throbbing pain subsided after the second or third week and I went back to work on the 5th week of recovery under light duty.

Oh I forgot to mention the best part, I woke up spasm free from the get go. Those two three weeks of he'll ish recovery were well worth it.

Confidence is a hell of a thing to lose over such a horrid condition. Go for it and best of luck to you.

Hi Lesley, So pleased to hear you've bitten the bullet and will be having surgery with Nik Patel.  You know that you can always ring me if there's anything I can help you with.  The thinking about it is far worse than actually doing it, but it has to be respected as major surgery nonetheless.  Looking forward to hearing how it goes.  Do you have a date yet?  Cheers, Angela

Hi Lesley, had the op at 4 this pm, amazed how ok I feel other than a bad head. So pleased it's over & Nik Patel said he'd moved the blood vessel in question.

Realised your op date is my birthday!

Hope this confirms for you it's worth it x

      Hi Marilyn

Op went well, Mr Patel said he moved the blood vessel from the nerve. I feel really good, recovered from the anaesthetic pretty quickly. Just expected headaches but not bad. Still have weak spasms but should deplete in time. Thank you for your wishes

Hi. How are you now? How many days post op ?

Did you get very dizzy and can you now move around ok ?

I have gone from being really scared about it to being very envious of those that have had the op as just want it done and over with .

I had a consult with Nik Patel last week about my MVD surgery and I must say he does put you very much at ease.

How long did you have to wait for the op. I was told it could be up to a year,

      Very best wishes

      Denise
