Am or pm for Escitalopram?

I've just started back on Escitalopram 5mg,after becoming incredibly anxious and panicky. I know when starting these, the anxiety gets worse at first. How long will this last, and is it best to take my dose morning or evening? Grateful for any advice x

Hi, I've always took mine and so many others in the morning, supposedly better but not sure why!

Hi Justine, I was previously on citalopram which didn't help me, tried it for about 4-5 months but Dr switched me to escitalopram and I've found it much better, feel I'm finally getting my life back!

Try and stick with it as I've heard it's one of the better anti depressants!

Here if you want to talk x

Hi Susan, thank you for your reply. I too was on Citalopram for many years, but it unfortunately stopped working for me a couple of years ago, hence I started Escitalopram. All been good, but have been lapse in taking them, one 5mg every few days, and now am in the grip of terrible anxiety and panic. I'm glad they work for you, what mg are you on? x

You will probably settle once you take them regularly! They are good, I've settled on 15mg and been on that for about 3 months now so hoping I stay well!

Hope you get on ok too. Take care

My anxiety never left me until I got off the drug. So for 9 months I suffered like you.

Everyone saying just give it a chance but they were wrong.

Your the only person out of hundreds I've heard say that so in my experience you make up a total of 0.3% so the chances are you should give them a chance!!!
