Hello. I first started getting headaches that caused me to be concerned about a year ago. I saw my doctor who advised me to wear my glasses and see if that worked, it did! A little history, I lost my mother about 5 years ago, and ever since then I became really worried about y health. Fast forward to now, from a year ago when I first started getting the headaches. I have been experiencing chest pain on the left side of my chest, later in the evening last night I had flashing lights out of the corner of my left eye for about 3 minutes. Ive had these symptoms and more off and on and it's realy worrying me. I scheduled an appt for next week, but I wanted to see if anyone has any insight on here.

Could be migraine attacks. The flashing light is best investigated by the eye specialists imho.

    Hi nick

All the symptoms you describe are physical symptoms of anxiety. You only have to read some of the threads to ses how common it is.

I am glad you have an appointment to see a professional as they will do some tests which will hopefully put your mind at rest.

I would mention all that your experiencing and how you have worried about your health since losing your mum. Which is natural.

When my sister passed away 10 years ago. i was convinced it would happen to me when i got to the same age and health was an issue with me.

So your not alone it is a common thing.

Try to stay as relaxed as possible , meditations, fresh air, plenty of fluids etc. Give your self lots of TLC. and dont dwell on the symptoms.. As this will just feed the anxiety making you more anxious.

    Good luck at the appointment.

    Stay posititive xxxx

The eye dr can rule out conditions that is why it is important to see a dr asap. The eye hospitals usually have a walk in clinic /emergency eye clinic. Flashing lights can be are due to many factors.Only an eye specialist at the eye hospital or eye clinic can safely advise you I am afraid.

Nick I can only say that whilst it is easy to say don't worry that some signs and symptoms need looking at by experts. Flashing lights can be due to migraine which is obviously very painful. However they can unfortunately be  due to serious conditions. Your eyes are precious .

Only an eye dr can safely advise you and then only after examining your eyes under the slit lamp.

You really need to go to the eye hospital emergeency department as A and E drs are not eye specialists sadly.

Depending on when you last had your eyes checked I would advise you to get back and have them checked again, this will help you understand your eyes are ok and that can help in the larger picture of understanding your body

Discuss your chest pains with your GP I would imagine it will be anxiety
