Hi

I am desperate to find a docor/specialist or gynaecologist in the nort of England who can help me with this condition. Has anyone seen such a person or know of a clinic or practitioner who can help me? Fed up of ill informed GPs who give ill informed advice and leave me in discomfort.

Hi, which area in the north east are you looking? I went to see Derek Cruickshank at James Cook in Middlesbrough and I liked how thorough he was and he helped me solve/investigate my problems. He also has a good bedside manner. He works in both the NHS and also private. You could look him up at south tees hospitals under gynaecology meet the team (links not permitted here sometimes).

I don't have AV but a multitude of other issues he found. I research him and north east genes before selecting him. I've also seen Dr. Twig. I researched him and then went to see him for a dermatology skin issue with vulva. He was so highly rated as a gyne and so awful on the visit. I nearly reported him it was that bad.

Apparently there is a Dr Diana Mansour based in Newcastle who can be seen on the NHS. The link to her info on menopause matters dot co dot uk says you can either be referred by a GP or you can self-refer.

Is that near you ? They list other menopause specialists as well.

    Good luck

Thank you KKay, that's not far (relatively speaking). I am in West Yorkshire. I will look into it.

Not having such a good time at the moment. Hard to remain positive at times. Hope you are OK

Carherine, please check out menopause matters dot co dot uk; there's a discussion thread on there about VA that is called The Burning Club, with much information-sharing that could be potentially useful. There is also a specialists' section where people have listed physician specialists familiar with menopause problems. Do look into it, there may be someone even closer to where you are. That's where I found the doctor I shared with you. Good luck
