Anyone else ever notice this iris it just me?

Every time I am tortured by the use of an indwelling catheter (i.e. foley) I get edema of the feet and ankles but when foley is removed swelling (i.e. water retention) in feet and ankles goes down.

I researched to see if there was some kind of correlation between indwelling catheters and edema.  I found no direct correlation but I did find a hint:

It seems in some men (me?) they have feet and ankle edema when they have any kind of urinary tract surgery.  That being said, it's not too big of a stretch to conclude that a foley, irritating the same areas as urinary tract surgery, the body reacts the same to the irritation and causes edema in men prone to this reaction.

Logical conclusion? I think so. Anyone else have any ideas?

Tom

Don't use a foley anymore. Have your doc show you how to self cath, buy some speedicaths and say goodbye to edema of the feet and ankles
