Anyone had surgery while on prednisone?

I'm hoping to have a colostomy reversed, and my surgeon is concerned about healing unless I reduce it significantly. I'm working down from 17.5 now.

    I have GCA & recently had surgery had 2 back teeth removed ended up in ICU for 2 days and on 75mg of pred I didn't have to reduce.

    Hi, I am on 37.5 mg a day for PMR and GCA and just started reducing by 2.5mg for 2 weeks. so far so good, then will go another 2.5 ( 5mg in all ) in another 2 weeks. I am due to have breast surgery in about 3 weeks, my surgeon said he can operate with what I'm on, but the Preds will make healing slower with possible infection, but he also said, if that happens then we deal with it then. No point in worrying to much, we need the operations.
