bad breath

I have had bad breath for years.  I recently spent almost $1,000 to have my gums lasered along with deep scaling.  I was feeling very hopeful.  The procedures did make my gums healthier - no bleeding gums.  However,  I still have the bad breath.  I don't know what to do.  In the past,  have had acid reflux,  but I don't know if that is the problem. What can I do? Please help

Could be acid reflux Margo. But could also be down to tonsil stones (if you still have your tonsils, that is.) Maybe consult an ENT doctor?

I still have my tonsils.  However, when I look down my throat, I can't see anything on either side of the throat that would resemble stones.

You're lucky you can even see your tonsils! I can never see mine when I look down my throat, even though I know they weren't taken out when I was a child. Tonsil stones don't have to be very big to create a bad odour, and they can occur behind the tonsils, where they wouldn't be visible.

Go and see an ENT specialist. I presume you're not in the UK, (reference to $) so it should be possible to see a specialist without having to fight for a referral. Even if it's not tonsil stones, this would still be a good place to start.
