Bad Headache!!!

Hi,

So I've had a bad headache for 6 weeks now & it's scaring me!

They started off really bad where I couldn't get out of bed! Now I have a headache everyday, sometimes when I wake up in the night I have one & in the mornings! The pains varies sometimes it's around my eyes, forehead, mostley its at the back off head!!! I have had sinusitis before but I have no other symptoms just the headaches! I have been doctors 3 times now they have referred me to the headache specialist at the hospital I have had my appointment through & it's not until 7 weeks away! My GP obviously has had it put down as non urgent! I'm adamant I have something wrong with me like a brain tumour! What else could it be I don't suffer with headaches now it's non stop! I've been opticians they say my eyes are fine! I can't wait 7 weeks I've even thought about going private & having a ct scan but there £350! Anyone else have these symptoms????

    Hi 

    I had the same ages ago a headache every day for weeks and was really worried. You don't mention how old you are, I was 48 when this happened to me  and now believe it was down to changing hormones. I was told Opticians can check for any pressure behind the eyes to rule out tumors. I was also told it could be posture. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

    Hi, Stacey:  Please ask your doctor to check for TMJ.  It has to be taken care of by a dentist.  You are probably grinding your teeth at night, causing your jaw to get off the track.  I suffered with similar headaches for years until one very wise doctor sent me to the dentist for Xrays of my jaw.  He made me some kind of plastic appliance that fit over my bottom teeth, to be work at night while I sleep.  The headaches went away instantly.  Now, when I throw my jaw off slightly, I know exactly what it is...Hope this helps, sweetie..I went to every doctor known to man before they found out what the problem was.  If your head tingles, and your neck is stiff and you feel stuffy around your sinus's I say that is the problem..Please google T M J and they will explain all of it to you....Hope this helps...

      I get exactly the same feeling, and I think Carole may be on to something. The jaw on my right side sometimes crunches when I open my mouth, I'm always stuffed up and there's a pain above my jaw near my ear, I have a constant fuzzy head, not an unmanageable headache but it always seems to be there to some degree. I do clench my jaw a lot too. Also get dizziness.

      I had a really bad ear/sinus infection last August and since then I haven't been right, could be chronic sinusitis or something along those lines.

    I had a bad headache for weeks and it turned out to be the start of chronic fatigue syndrome. Which is realted to anxiety. Are you one of those people who are always on the go and worry a lot? My headache got so bad i couldn't sleep and painkillers didn't make any difference. Try not to panic - there are lots of reasons and panicking is only going to make the headache worse. All the best.
