I'm oing through the exact same situation an ï will be off my antibiotics tomorrow an it seems like it didn't help I'm still in pain except the antibiotics gave me a yeast infection. I hope you are able to find out the specialist told me the next step would be bacterial infection specialist that would give antibiotics I'm Iv since others antibiotics haven't worked. HOPE you find out what is causing your issue

Try over the counter yeast pills . That always happens to me too and I always get the pill from the doctor as they prescribe antibiotics

What bacteria did they find in the culture?  Giving an antibiotic before knowing what bacteria is being treated can cause the antibiotic not to work, as it might be a resistant bacteria.  One thing to to know ladies is when giving a uring sample you need to clean around the area with a special wipe and do a clean catch....sometimes if you have a vaginal infection going on it will show WBC in your urine and then you are given an antibiotic and that will not clear up the vaginal infection.  This could be why symptoms are not going away either because it is not an actual bladder infection.  It is tricky, but I have been treated for a UTI that wasn't, and it took months to figure this out.

They found ecoli . & I was sure it was a uti . I've had vaginal infections before & this was a for sure uti .. just think the antibiotics made my urethra very irritated

      E. Coli normally lives in the bowel where it does no harm. What steps do you take to ensure that it does not get transferred to the bladder?

Just seen this post saying it was E. Coli. As far as I am aware (having had it so very many times) the usual antibiotics for it are Cefalexin and Nitrofurantoin. I have had it in the past but would not touch Cipro again unless I was dying and it was the drug of last resort! The internet is awash with information about the damage it can do. My understanding is that Fluoroquinolones have been removed from the market and Cipro is one of, or possibly the only one, left available. I developed PMR in the last three years (an autoimmune disorder) and Cipro could well have been a contributory factor.

Thanks for the info about the probiotic. I will definitely try . But I really think the cipro is the reason for this . I still should not feel like I have to pee all the time . All my other tests they ran came back normal so now I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor . This is going on two weeks so miserable .

So my results were negative but since I'm still having symptoms she put me on a 3rd antibiotic one of the ones you mentioned nitro. I ordered the probiotics but will take a month to get here. This issue is going on two weeks and its awful. Like I just wanna be normal

I just got over a UTI and I've never had it done this way before but if your dr isn't doing this it might be why your still having problms. They did the usual dip stick test which showed that I had an infection. It even showed that I had trace amounts blood in my urine sample. So they put me on an antibiotic. But they didn't stop there, they grew the sample over the next few days to determine if the treatment they gave me was the correct one. Because apparently some strains of infection are not killed by certain antibiotics.

By the time I got to the doctors my urine was already being flushed by water so the dip stick didn't show blood but when my lab results came back from the lab it was a uti . She already put me on Cipro by that point but by day 3 on cipro no improvement, so she changed me to Bactrum, by day 4 I was back at her office doing a pelvic exam because I still wasn't better . Now I stopped the antibiotics and I'm waiting for the results but my symptoms are slowly decreasing just still very uncomfortable.

    Update :

its slowly improving after i stopped antibiotics completely which I feel was making it worse . I did take the one yeast pill to make sure a yeast infection would appear upon this mess . Hopefully I hear my results tomorrow . I also should of noted that I did stop my birth control over a week ago before all this started . Could that be another causing factor?
