hi

i had a colonoscopy last Tuesday as part of my surveillance, 3 years after having bowel and a 40 year sufferer of IBS.

as part of my treatment 3 years ago  I had papillon treatment in the colon which is now developed into an ulcer Slough,, which was there when I had my last colonoscopy in January.

the consultant as now taken a biopsy of that area to check for reoccurrence of cancer.

my question is how long before I hear the results and will I hear quicker if there is a problem?

I am uk based and a private patient.

thanks very much for any advice

A couple of weeks I would have thought. Maybe a month. No more. At 3 years after the cancer, your odds of recurrence are reducing. I wish you good luck.

    Many thanks

i didn't think it would be that long, particularly if they found a problem, I guess it's a question of patience!

as a private patient who is paying, I would expect to hear from my physician as soon as the laboratory sent the results. hugs
