    Hi mark.

Sorry to hear that. 1st thing I would say is don't read things online or work yourself up. Go to NHS website for colonoscopy advice.

I have had one. You don't get put to sleep but you do get made verrryyyy drowsy. You really won't know anything different. You can even choose to look at the screen. A chance to see your inside. I wish I looked more I've polycystic ovaries in end had to have hysterectomy. My 17 years of not knowing what they were I wish I looked at the screen. The most important thing is don't work yourself in a state don't listen to horror stories. The drinks are not nice and yes stay near a toilet!!!!! It will be empty your bowls when it starts to pass water. Once it's done I think the colonoscopy itself takes 20 min if there is a major issue you will know.

The specialist was in room with mine. I distinct remember them pulling polyps off. Not everything is cancer. What your describing has still does happen to me..

Some tests have shown nothing polyps we're just that.

Everyone I get a scan or internal or when I had hysterectomy every specialist has mentioned I have build up even showing the scan. Mine sometimes comes out in balls like a rabbit or white or black heavy won't flush. In the meantime do as your gp has asked. I really do hope you get the answers your looking for. Please don't start thinking worse it could all just be happening at once ☺
