So, thought I would start this discussion with a different sort of symptom. 30 years ago when I had my last child, just prior to the end of the third trimester I suffered what's called "Braxton Hicks contractions" , supposedly the bodies way of preparing your lower regions for childbirth.
i was diagnosed with PMR two weeks prior to Xmas 16.
Strangely enough sometimes I feel as if these pains I am now feeling are very much similar to those "pregnancy" pains ???
Anyone else have them.

Not me. Although I started out with bad back before my DX when I'm in a PMR flare my back goes really bad and very different then it is normally. But what I remember of Braxton Hicks you have contractions. So there are times in between pain where there is no pain just like labor. And that is not how my PMR works in my back.

That's fair enough too. I don't have backache with PMR , just this strange tightening in my stomach area , legs and under my belly ??

Are you sure it is a tightening and not the sort of feeling that I describe as feeling as if we've been punched in the solar plexus? Which might be due to firing of neurones due to the cytokine effect.
