Hi Davey , possibly you need to get your iron/haemoglobin levels checked . Bruising is part of ckd if you have anaemia. Your nephrologist should be able to tell you what you can take to bring levels up.

    i Davey,

I do- and often bleed into the skin so the bruise is very prominent. It is because I'm still anaemic despite all efforts to improve my Hb.  I take iron and have had folic acid and Vitamin B12 injections .  It improved my HB but not as much as I'd hoped.  My iron store (ferritin) is Ok but I don't absorb it properly so TSat ( how much of available iron is being absorbed) of is quite low.

Yes possibly because of my fathers condition with ckd , it's all associated with the hemoglobin , are you anemic ?

    Hi Davey

Yes I fell recently and my leg turned black up to the knee but perhaps ant/inflammatories were part of it too. I stopped them 5 days ago. I had no idea the damage they could cause. Hope you are keeping well .

Also just noticed today I have black toenails on two big toes.. Not sure if that's ckd. You begin to think everything is connected to ckd!!
