CA-125

Have anyone else been tested for CA-125? It can indicate both endometriosis, cancer and inflammations. My result was higher than normal, 4 times higher than it should be. I am now waiting on another test to exclude malignicy. How high was your testresult when diagnosed with endometriosis?

I was tested for this but didn't get an exact number. I have to ask my specialist about it when I see him next as I want to know for sure. What are they wanting to exclude maligncy on? Possible cyst/fibroid? Have you had a MRI done? They thought I had a 15cm mass in my uterus through 2 ultrasounds, it wasn't until the MRI was done that they discovered both fallopian tubes were blocked. I got the impression that they don't know much until a MRI is done, at least in my case.

My doctor doesn´t want to give me an MRI. It would feel so much better to have one and now a bit more about how bad it really is.

The new test is because they can´t tell if the old test is elevated because of endometriosis or some other reason like cancer

I would definitely push for a MRI, even if that means going to a different specialist/Dr. The word malignant was written all over my charts as all they could see was a "mass" during the 2 ultrasounds. The MRI told them what was really going on. The MRI also pointed towards endometriosis growths, so they were able to get some direction on that as well from the test. Good luck! It's difficult dealing with Drs on this stuff.

I had a CA125 test before i was diagnosed with endemetriosis. I cant remember the exact figure but it was considerably higher than it should be and was told initially that i could have ovarian cancer, luckily it turned out to be endo. I was told afterwards that usually for cancer its in the 1000's. It was confirmed at an US that it wasnt cancer which the test was pushed through quick.

Ask to be referred to specialist asap. Good luck xx
