CATARACT surgery pupil now constricted

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had cataract surgery several days ago.  In the midst of the surgery the pupil constricted.  Dr. used instrucments to stretch the pupil.  Pupil is now constricted & vision is blurry.  Has anyone else had this occur?  If so, did it resolve itself?

What a dissapiontment. Cataract removal is stressed by optamologists as you'llmsee clearer and brighter colors. I am so sorry this has been a mistake by the eye surgeon.

what if anything can they do to help return the shape of your pupil.

my cataract surgery went wonky and see double . I have requested all the records and taking to other surgeons for another opinion . Maybe you can get another opinion from a specialist from a surgeon that specializes in your issue fromm surgery.

It sounds like the sensitive dilator muscle was stressed...during cataract surgery it is normal for the pupil to constrict temporarily.

    Perhaps a second opinion

I had a Drs. visit yesterday and learned that the pupil constricted when it was hit w/the Laser.  Vision is still blurry, but the good news is that the pupil is getting a bit larger.  Dr. states that vision will be restored, it will just take time.  See him again on Dec. 20th to have stitch removed.
