Charlie Sheen news

If the most we ever have to deal with is genital herpes, even if Type 2, it's not so bad, especially when you consider the alternatives and the big picture. There are worse things to have, and I feel for Charlie Sheen, even if he chose to lead a risky lifestyle.

The very public disclosure he was essentially forced to do, not to mention the extortion and stigma, is far more than anything we could ever possibly imagine. Having GH sucks, there's no question about it, but just trying to add some perspective.

Also, for those of you who follow rugby, New Zealand's Jonah Lomu just recently passed away from a rare kidney condition. He was only 40 years old. Sad.

    I had the same reaction

I had alot of compassion for him. I know how hard its been for me to handle my diagnosis. It was so hard to hear the herpes word, i can't imagine hiv. It could have just as easily been that.

    No one deserves it

People here are worried about disclosing HSV to partners, when Charlie was forced to disclose HIV to the whole world. That doesn't diminish the legitimate concerns we all have about disclosure, but when you compare that to what he had to do on TV, just WOW... The price you pay when you're famous, but how awful!!

That must have been very stressful for him and taken a lot of courage, so it's no wonder why he was stuttering so much. But I bet he's also relieved and now he never really needs to disclose again, since he just did the ultimate disclosure!

Hi Felis. You are right there are much worse things out there.

Definitely worse things out there, although I still sometimes wish I could be like how I was before GH, when I had an STD-free track record and nothing else known. Sigh...

I am closely following the Charlie Sheen story, as it's quite the unfolding soap opera (like his whole life generally, it seems!), plus it will be very interesting to see how the disclosure issue plays out in the courts, if it gets to that. Not the same as GH, but interesting nevertheless.

Meanwhile, I hope Charlie can clean up his act and get a grip on his manic life!

Lol! I try to stick to more legitimate sources than TMZ, but basically there's *lots* of drugs, alcohol, porn stars, prostitutes, transsexuals, disclosure contracts he made them sign (but not specifically relating to HIV), extortion, plus he-said-she-said about his HIV status before sex, etc.

      Wow

I still have lots of compassion for every one of us out here doing our best (including charlie)

Looks like Charlie may also have herpes, which practically goes without saying, given how common it supposedly is. He apparently settled a case with a person who claims non-disclosure and transmission via unprotected sex back in 2011. I see a lot of lawsuits (whether real or fabricated) on the horizon...

    Wow

He has really done a number on himself. I guess if its true that he knew and didn't disclose he has an awful lot to make amends for

I am sure that whoever got it from him will find little solace in the money. I wouldn't contract on purpose for all the money in charlies account
