Chest infection

have had a bad cough for a few days if it turns out to be a chest infection can this affect the tkr

    I doubt it. Areas like kidneys, blood stream etc are more likely to be suspect.

    However the respritory infections can be dangerous as you are already weakened from surgery. If it seems to get worse I would have it checked out so it doesn't take a quick turn toward pneumonia, especially if you are a smoker or around smokers. Increase your fluid intake so you don't get dehydrated.

    If you have already had the TKR, no.  Feeling ill on top of having the operation can make you feel pretty sorry for yourself, but that is all
