Chest pains and heavy heart beats. Complication of as?

Hi all, I have been going through 9 months of all types of physical symptoms. Been to all the docs for all the scans, monitors and cameras you can think of. A few specialists thought it could be my ankylosing spondylitis

started off with chest pain lasting 5 seconds. Maybe 3 times a month for about 4 months. Chest pain didn't feel muscular skeletal. Could have a chest pain on my way to gym and then do bench press at gym and feel nothing.

then had a chest pain, loss of appetite and short of breath one night so I went to hospital.... Was told anxiety.

Over the next few weeks things got worse with constant noticeable heavy heart beats, wierd thump in chest giving me a winded feeling for 2 seconds, loss of appetite, more chest pains, stomach pains, splinter hemmirages, muscle twitches and migraines for several weeks.

this has happened on and off for months now. Feeling sh*t more often then not.

other less common symptoms are clicking in ear when walking, clicking in throat while breathing out, noticeable veins under eyes, ear ack,

most common has been the chest pains only lasting a few seconds but can happen several times a day

and the heavy heart beats. Mainly when sitting down or lying.

Through all this I think my AS flared up twice. With a bad back or hips for 3 or 4 days

Currently on no meds and never have been on meds other than anti inflams when needed

after any input or advice

thanks for your time

It would be helpful if we knew something about you lifestyle. What kind of work you do, how well do you sleep, how stressed are you, married or single?

I have chest compressions too, and also a fast heart beat. I thought I was having some kind of heart attack or panic attack with my first. My understanding is that the muscles tighten around this area, it is coming from the spine, it is not usually anything to worry about, but is a symptom of your AS.

Obviously this must be verified by a doctor, as with all chest pains, it must be taken seriously, but that was my consultants verdict in the end.

AS can show itself in many ways and this is one of them. Perhaps it is time for a rethink with your meds if you are struggling.

Thanks guys. One specialist put me on some anti inflams for a week and another put me in a cortisone tablet to see if that helped with my symptoms. But it didn't.

Now starting sulfasalazine to help with as and hopefully help with the other symptoms. Apparently it takes 4-6 weeks to take effect
