hello!

I am a 31 yo female. I have been living with severe chronic stomach pain for 15 yrs but in the last 4 yrs has gotten so unbearable that I hardly ever go anywhere don't talk to any friends from the past can't work etc. my gp put me on pain medication about 3 yrs ago but this barely makes my life any better at all. Have gone to MANY MANY different Drs and have had so many tests done that all come back CLEAN and get told everything looks great. I am just always in pain....ALWAYS. It's hurts so bad that there can be no pressure put on it at all. About a year ago I dropped 20 pounds and weighed in at 89lbs. No one could tell me why I had dropped all that weight. I was eating all the time nothing about my life or daily routines had changed. After about 9 months, the weight seemed to come back on over a couple weeks time. I feel like my spirit is broken and I will just spend the rest of my life in terrible pain. If anyone experiences anything like this which also can not be diagnosed PLZ HELP. Share your story with me plz

Hi Mikki  first of all I am so sorry you have to live with this pain all the time, something is obviously not right here.

You state that you have seen many doctors and had many tests done, so I imagine you mean colonoscopies and anything to do with the bowels/intetines etc, have you had all internal organs checked? what about urinary tract infections.  Do you have any toilet issues at all?

If you have had all the tests mentioned and they cannot find anything wrong with conventional medicine  then have you thought of trying a different approach perhaps trying an Holistic approach? this is someone who deals with natural herbs etc., or acupuncture, if as I have said conventional medicine cannot give you any answers for your chronic pain then surely you would be willing to give anything a try and you never know it might just help.

      Hello!

Yes, I have had colonoscopies endoscopes gastric emptying studies etc. I have terrible toilet issues. I am willing to do anything at this point. Almost had my whole stomach removed!! Another dr told me that was crazy to do at my age with no diagnosis though. Next up is maybe having my uterus removed. I will look into acupuncture, but I do know that ins doesn't pay for holistic and will have to wait a little before I'd have enough money for all that. Thanks for the advice!

    Hi mikki38011

I would be inclined to agree with jackie....it may have done your stomach more harm than good taking conventional medication for many years..in fact it may have made your pain much much worse. It may be in your best interest to go down the holistic road and gradually wean yourself off your conventional meds.

Before doing this discuss it with your doc and he/she will help you wean off your present meds because they are a waste of time and money to you if you pay and to the NHS (if in UK) if they are not helping you alleviate your pain.

I sincerely hope you can alleviate your pain....keep us posted.....best wishes...

      Thanks!

I have spoken to my dr many times about the pain meds being a reason for the intensified pain but he says that's ridiculous. He put me on a very strong pain medication when I started with him which I continue to be on today. Before I started the pain meds I wasn't able to ever get out of bed. Now, I have maybe 2 or 3 good days a week where I am able to get out of bed and do something with my 5 year old. I've had many Drs tell me that if I get off the pain meds my problems will go away but I don't think they realize that before the pain meds my pain was unbearable 24/7. If i truly thought this was the answer I would stop all of it but can't find a dr to give me a reason that makes enough sense to me. I also find that heat elevates the non stop cramping and now have burns on my stomach from the constant heat but can't stop the heat because it does help. It's like I'm ruining my body from the inside out but am willing to do ANYTHING to stop the pain even for a minute. My life revolves around me being in pain and that is the worst way to live.

how did your pain first appear?

(Please don't judge and remember I was 16 at the time!)

I got pregnant at 16 and the guy who got me pregnant told me that if I didn't have an abortion he'd beat my stomach in with a baseball bat! I had incredibly strict parents and so this was at the time that in the us they had just come out with a pill to have a forced miscarriage. They told me it wouldn't be that bad and would pass quickly.....boy were they wrong! Worst pain to experience at that age and after recovering, came the pain and constipation that has NEVER gone away. After that I also have had 3 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies. Luckily in between the 2 ectopic so was able to give birth to my miracle little human who is 5 now and has to deal with his single momma always being in pain...it's all a really tough situation.

I am so sorry that you have been hurting so long.   My chronic pain is in both sides just below my ribs, and I've had mine for four years.  I, too, lost weight, about 30 pounds, but that's because I was panic stricken, trying to cut out different foods that I thought might be the culprit.  Went to many doctors, took many tests, tried different meds.  No solution.  Was even told by a retired doctor friend that many, many cases go undiagnosed.  So I live with mine the best I can.  Hope that you find a way to do so too.  Sometimes there just is no answer and doctors can drive you crazy!

      Hello!

Doctors can definitely drive us crazy, especially if you are on pain meds. They want to blame everything on that but don't keep in mind the pain meds have been around for a lot shorter time than the pain. I hope you get answers someday. I can not live with thinking that I will have to be like this for the rest of my life....always hurting and always being in pain. I can't imagine that kind of life for myself or my 5 year old son who i am the sole parent/provider for. I have considered contacting doctors in Israel hoping maybe they can do something for me....best of luck to you and plZ don't give up on someday someone finding an answer for you!

Thank you, your kind words mean very much to me. The best thing I could hope for my son is that I find someone who can help me to feel better so he doesn't have to spend his life watching me suffer.

you may have adhesions which is the intestines sticking together and making digestion harder but that is only my theory for the pain that you are feeling.  It might be worth seeing a gastro specialist to get to the bottom of this pain trauma.

i have seen 3 different gastroenterologists up to this point. I am going to see a new one who comes highly recommended for chronic pain in a couple of days. Will keep you updated, thanks!
