Colon cancer getting worse?

Posted , 8 users are following.

I have posted my story before I'm 27 since September/October ive had rectal bleeding & moderate-severe abdominal pain which hasnt eased at all change in bowel habits and also consistency going more frequently about 2-5 times a daylow iron high CRP most other bloods were good (test was done in early January, how often should they be checked?) I've been waiting to see the specialist since October my appointment is in 3 weeks which I'm very keen for on Sunday I woke up with a sore throat but not hurt to swallow I went to the dr he said I have swollen nodes and my throat was very red so he said throat infection should be right within 3 days take antibiotics anyway today I woke up with a swollen bruised inner elbow and swollen back of neck, I'm absolutely a wreck that I have cancer and I'm going to leave my daughter behind could all these swollen lymph nodes be due to colon cancer? Sorry for the long read

Hey ! So my names Amy I'm almost 21 I have had a very similar experience and am so worried I also have bowel cancer! So mine all started 9 months ago with the swollen lymph nodes which came up out of no where and were really painful and then a week or so after that I had a BM with blood in it which resulted in low iron then about 2 months later I ended up getting so weak that I couldn't walk then late October- early November I had an anal fissure which then bleed quite a bit for a few days ever since I have had complications with my tonsils which resulted in me taking lots of anti biotics and during that time my bowel movements were not normal they were loose and had black and red spots in it. I freaked out as they had lasted ever since being January although I just had my tonsils out last week and I'm worried again as I haven't had a bowel movement in a week now! So I am really freaked out that I might have bowel cancer and my pop recently found out he has terminal bowel cancer!! All I can say in regards to your situation is that when I went to my specialist about my lymph nodes he said it could be either of three things which is an infection somewhere a auto immune issue or worst case cancer I was referred to an oncologist which was really crazy although he didn't seem to be to worried which was a major relief although after having that cancer scare and now going through another one I am honestly freaking out I don't have anxiety but it doesn't make it any easier thinking about having my life cut so short and leaving my family behind. My fingers are crossed for you and I hope that we don't end up having to leave our families and partners behind I have just gotten a referral to a gastroenterologist and hope that I'll be able to get some answers soon. Please keep me updated I have my fingers crossed for you and hope to god that we both end up ok !

Hi Amy I'm sorry your going through a tough time! I also have black spots in my stool I wonder what it is, I have a fecal occult test it came back negative for blood I'm wondering if it was a false negative? My symptoms seem to be getting worse that's what I find so worrying, I've recently developed shortness of breath I was given pain killers that are no longer working and all these other worrying symptoms but my doctor is happy for me to have waited 5 months to see the specialist and god knows how long I'll actually have to wait for my colonoscopy. I feel like I have waited too long and it has spread throughout my body. I'm sorry I probably sound like the biggest hypochondriac!

I'm here if you ever need to talk I feel some times it's easier talking with strangers who also feel as crappy as you do! Lol

Haha know don't be silly I totally understand where your coming from I haven't had that test 😬 I'm glad yours was negative. My gp said that black spots can be a sign of old blood or I read that it can also be something you have eaten like berries or something haha weird I know but I didn't eat any berries or fruit when it first happened so who knows it's definitely not the nicest thing to have. I also have had the laboured breathing where I feel like sometimes I have to try harder to breath. I hope all goes well with you please keep me updated it's such an annoying thing not knowing what's wrong and waiting is the hardest part !

Hey Amy so I had my colonoscopy today i know everyone says it but it really wasn't that bad I was so scared getting wheeled in to the OR but once the ansethia was pushed through the drip I was out to it and woke up nice and easy on the way back to recovery all up I was there for about 3 hours, the prep was horrible I vomited a lot of it up so I was worried I wasn't be 'clean' enough but he didn't say anything so I think I was fine, there were several biopsys taken I'm not sure what for but he said I don't have cancer so I'm cheering!! Unfortunately I have to wait another month to get my results but all in all I'm pretty happy, very tired though I think I'll sleep awesome tonight! Lol

Hey I'm going through the exact same thing slightly elevated CRP low iron and abdominal pain and even had the swollen lymph nodes( and lots more symptoms) Got a CT scan done last week for those still waiting on the results( more worried it will show something messed up in my abdomen) I have a colonoscopy booked for mid June just wondering if you ever got the results back of your biopsy? I'm only 21 and realize cancer would be rare but still a possibility I'm freaking out.

Hi. I am a 32 year old female that has been going through the same problems since October. I have had a change in bowels and a dull ache under my left rib, Indigestion, SOB, and overall achy. In November a large swollen lymphnode popped up under my jaw. I have been running between ent's and GI doctors for

Months. Blood work has been normal, abdomenal U/S normal, Ct scan of neck normal. I am constantly weak and sick and tired of feeling sick. I have another apt with the GI doctor next week and going to discuss a colonoscopy and endoscopy. How were the results of your recent test? Thanks!

Have your iron levels been checked? Sometimes they don't check those on a routine blood test. I am also weak a lot of the time and feeling sick or in pain. I also had an abdominal ultrasound which was normal. Still waiting for the ct results hopefully get them by tomorrow. Sorry you are going through all this, very stressful!
