Angela, I hope you follow Eileen's helpful advice in her post a few minutes ago.
I have checked out the Charity, Headway, and found that their branch in the Cardif area where you live hold group get-togethers for those with head injuries. You may already know this as you mentioned they have been in touch with you - do follow up all these avenues - people are out there to help and support you until you get strong again, and you WILL.

I'm not sure what you mean about going to another group - do you mean a different Headway group? Unfortunately there aren't any PMR support groups in the Cardiff area at present.
I'm sorry to hear about your Mum being in palliative care but I hope she is being made as comfortable as possible.

If you are experiencing head pain, remain alert to any problems with your vision, in the case of which go straight to A&E to rule out GCA which, if suspected, will need a much larger dose of steroids to control it. It could just be down to the stress of everything in your life at the moment so, as I have suggested previously, do try and get involved in some sort of relaxation therapy, by joining a yoga class or Tai Chi class for instance. Also have a daily walk as far as your pain allows which is known to lift the mood as it releases those feel-good endorphins.

Secondly, I'm also sorry that I have only just seen your posts over the last couple of months. I don't seem to get notifications of posts into my email inbox any more - I don't know why - and it is just by chance that I spotted that I had new notifications at the top of the page. Added to this I have had problems with my internet provider so have just been involved in a changeover from one to another.
I'm so glad that the steroid injections have helped with your pain. With regard to you being found to be deficient in Vitamin B12, this can happen when we have inflammatory illnesses, sometimes due to anaemia, and I also became anaemic in the early days of PMR/GCA but it sorted itself out without the need for treatment. It depends how severe your deficiency is - sometimes just ensuring you eat plenty of foods known to contain Vit B12 can help, such as meat, milk, cheese, eggs, but if the deficiency is more server you might need supplementation with Vit B12 injections.
Thank you for your kind wishes, and I hope you, too, will find some comfort in knowing that we are all thinking of you at this sad time.
