Hi, I am sorry to hear sbout your use of Bisoprol. I have on behalf of my wife done on this site many blogs about Bisoprol and it's general effects on most people.

Hi I was on bisoprolol and felt dizzy/weak when standing from a sitting position. The meds was causing postural hypotension, so stopped taking them.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with bisoprolol.  Speaking for myself, I found it a scary med.  It gave me severe chest pains that landed me in a and e.  I would recommend seeing your GP and asking for a change of beta blocker or a reduction in dose of your present one.  Different ones suit different people but, after trying three, it seems all of them have some unwanted side effects.

Sorry about your use of Bisoprol - it took me a few weeks to get used to it - was very tired and "spaced out" but it got better - have a word with your GP/  Hope things improve.

Hi, yes I have this too and also I get tremendous old memory recollections. Stuff I had forgotten long ago comes to the surface, especially when droping off to sleep. I had a dream 2 nights ago that I was back in my old classroom in junior school when I was 10 years old. I asked someone in my dream what day and date it was. The reply was Thursday, the 26th of October, 1978 The next day I checked the 1978 calendar and sure enough, the 26th WAS a Thursday. It gave me goosepimples. The sub conscious memory came right to the surface and I hadn't thought about this old classroom or that time since I can't remember when. I find this absolutely amazing and the sense of Deja Vu that I get from time time - I find fascinating too. I myself actually enjoy this "side-effect". I have tried almost all of the beta blockers and a lot of anti-arrhythmic drugs too and I find myself that (for me) Bisoprolol is the lesser of all the evils.

Hi, I was just wondering how your side effects are now, I am still having horrible feelings and thoughts. i was on 10mg, but came down to 7.5mg, but last week a different dr. let me come down to 5mg, but i still get dizzy spells, blurred vision. feeling tired and not much interest in anything, and feeling really down. i just want to be my old self,  i had open heart surgery in october to replace a leaking mitral valve, i was recovering quite nicely, until i had an episode af, that is when the high doses of bisoporol came into play, hope you are feeling better.

I am wondering why the Manufacturer of Biso does not recommend to Docs

to have any Doc. start you on this medication at the lowest possible dose with slow increases... The manufacturer could even issue a dose-pack, as they do with Hydrocortisone, that enables one to take pills @ a slow increase to 5mg  or 10 mg... that allows patients + Docs to monitor their condition on a weekly basis......

     So that means that a dose as low as 1.25mg should be, or is available - to get one used to this beta blocker slowly.........instead of getting hit over the head with 5 or 10mg.

    It also stated that  ""1 out of 10 patients do have side-effects... ""

Yet judging by the fact that this Beta-blocker site," patient.info",  and others even exist, has me wondering about that ratio...

A mg-adjusted dosepack should also be available for withdrawal from this med. 

I will never go off the 10mg/per day again from one day to another, as my Doc and I once tried. Within days I felt sicker than the proverbial dog... + had to resume the 10mg...The above subject will be presented to my Doc @ my next OV, ....He may start snickering.... but I want to start him thinking...  we have to speak out to get some reactions or changes  ......  Sudden starts and withdrawals are not just about side-effects, they are also about the physically detremental changes that can happen @ that point, due to the sudden effects caused by the medication.  For today - I wish you all well !!!

I am 75 and since my wifes massive heart attack 2 years ago I have researched every drug ever given to her and to myself.

Firstly if you are not happy with the drugs that you are taking then check on the leaflet in the box that they in came to see what side effects they may have, bearing in mind that a mixture of different drugs may have different effect on people depending on what they have wrong with them.

I always use a day glow pen to highlite what the possible side effects may be and take that with me to either the GP or the specialist, also check out online what alternatives there are and check there possible side effect and take it with you.

my wife was on a cocktail of drugs after her heart attack and gradually in consultation with her two doctors I was able to get rid of most of them.

Bisoprol was the worse one, she was taking 2.5 mg and was sleeping a lot always tired and feeling lethargic with no energy, Firstly I changed from taking in the morning to last thing at night, so that in the morning she was less tired, then reducing it to 1.25 mg and then changing to Atenolol with agreement.

The overal difference in each stage has been quite significant and now she is back to her normal self.

Many years ago when the government decided that 60 year olds should take an Aspro a day, in the first 2 weeks I passed out twice and told my GP that I was not going to take them again as it brought my Blood pressure right down, he said fine.

A few months ago I went to see the practice nurse and she said becauce of my age and that i'm border level on my Cholesterol I should start taking Atorvastatin ( Pharmaceutical companies were pushing doctors to prescribe this ) I took it for one week and felt dead ill, so I stopped and told the GP about it and he said okay don't take it.

The point to all this is research what and why you are taking certain drugs and look for alternatives if you feel yours don't agree with you.

IMPORTANT under no circumstances should you opt out or change any drugs without the agreement of your GP / Specialist.

I have been taking pain pills for years and I experience(not every time, maybe 1 out of every 10 or 15 times) crazy deja vu and it is extremely uncomfortable. It will be either something on the t.v. or just in a room with people when conversations are going on. But I'll get an extremely uneasy feeling come over me and whatever is happening around me, I will get a sense of having been in that exact scenario before , to the point where I know everything about to be said or everything about to happen in the TV show. And I have to turn away or close my eyes because it makes me physically ill and I can't watch it. It lasts for 10 or 15 seconds and it's the worst 10 or 15 seconds in the world. Like I said, I get nauseous, feel like I'm about to be sick, and literally have to change the channel or close my eyes for a few seconds to try and make it go away. Has anyone experienced this and/or does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance.
