Since knowing that my pituitary gland is bigger than normal, ive now put my symptoms into consideration and to me they all sound like cushings disease.

I have a lump on the back of my neck (had this for years), weakness, my hands look thinner, i have gained weight , really tired, fatigued, headaches, dizzyness, bad memory and forget what im saying, lack of interest, and bad thoughts and feeling down all the time .

Someome please help me..

Im scared they have left it too late and that they cant do anything for me

Emiy, Breathe.  One step at a time.  I've had headaches for the last 12 years and I finally got a diagnosis.  I am grateful and I am not dying.  It's never too late.  Find a good endo and get answers and get a plan.  Be thankful that you are starting to figure it out.  Breathe, breathe, breathe.

Speaking from the experience of someone who has a lot of health issues due to a 9 year delayed diagnosis (and no google in that time!) - if you know you have an enlarged pit gland or an adenoma, you must be seeing an endocrinologist who would have done some blood tests to check on which of your pit gland hormones are out of whack.  They take only a few days before results are available.

Your gp may phone you to let you know if there are any serious results, if not, phone him or her for these results, or see if you can speed up your next appt with your endocrinologist.

Once they know, you should be put on treatment medications straight away.  In the meantime, STOP consuming foods and drinks that are not good for your health, START replacing them with foods and drinks that are GOOD for your health.  Food can be medication for us.  STOP any unhealthy lifestyle.  These are not activities that are going to take up more of your time that you feel you cannot add to.  You then might find some gaps in your life that you can fill with some healthy activity but don't stress if you cannot, as eating right is the best start.

Your research will have found that there are certain foods and drinks that are not good for Cushings and similarly, you will have found there are certain foods and drinks that are good for Cushings.  Start on this while you are waiting to hear for certain that it is Cushings.

Make contact with a Pituitary Gland association for information, and support.  If you are not getting the appropriate medical treatments, be assertive and make it happen.  Focus on gaining power and knowledge over your life and you will be able to deal with whatever comes.

      Thankyou for your replies..

Will the doctor refer me to whoever i have to see or do i have to do it myself ?

Is it possible to have extremely bad aching muscles and joints everywhere? Thats what im like this morning; everything hurts even my stomach, eyes, wrists and fingers.

Is this normal with problems with an enlarged gland?

Sorry im just so worried about this as i feel like my body is shutting down on me

Usually a gp cannot order an MRI which is what would have shown your enlarged pit gland, only an endocrinologist or other specialist could order one.  If not, how do you know if you have an enlarged pit gland?

That specialist should refer you to an endocrinologist if you are not already seeing one.  Or your gp can refer you to an endocrinologist.

Have you had pit gland blood tests done?  No one, not even a dr, can or will diagnose on a blog.  Go to your dr, ask her/him all these questions, and get the diagnosis first.

Sorry i didnt explain it in my post.. I had an mri ordered by a nuerologist on the 23rd january as i was fearing a brain tumour which i was very lucky to even get an mri as they kepnsaying it would be a waste and its just anxiety . the results came back as brain is fine however they have an incidental finding of my pituitary gland being slightly bigger than normal..

I then went to the doctor the following day who explained that it is not a brain tumour, but they will fiqure out from another mri on the 18th if i have a pituatary tumour. He also said he doesnt think i have symptoms of hormonal inbalance but this is only because i havent told doctors everything thats wrong as it is progressing amd making me feel even worse everyday.

Ive just recently had blood tests to check my thyroid and glucose level so hopefully the results should be back soon.

They should be doing blood tests on all your pit gland hormones.  Ask your dr for them if only to eliminate potential problems.
