Superficial Thrombophlebitis in my arm??

Posted , 3 users are following.

Today, I woke up with a painful, redish (not blood red, but not the colour of a bruise, definitely noticable) lump on my left forearm, around 2 inches from a small hole where I had a blood test two days ago.

I've recently had Acute Pancreatitis and spent some time in the hospital and have had many IV's and blood tests, which I'm not sure could be the cause of my issue, but I can't find anything online apart from indications that it could be a small blood clot under my skin.. Has anyone had this problem?

It doesn't look like a bite or a spot or a boil, and you can't really visibly see that it's a lump, but it's incredibly painful to touch and is sending a very weird sensation up towards my hand.. Help!

I also had two DVT injections, one was around a month ago and another a few days later.

As it is the weekend I would dial the out of hours service 111 for advice.

My inclination would be to go straight to A & E, given your recent medical history. Or, at the very least, as derek76 suggested, ring 111 for advice.
