Muscular like lump in abdomen

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have a lump In my abdomen that appears to pop out when ever I use my stomach muscles in any way. If I set up Or left Or even bend To lotion my own legs It pops out. It feels like a protruding muscle. I have been to several specialist Including a hernia doctor and a gastro doctor. Both see nothing. I even had an MRI done but once again the doctors see nothing. When the pain stops It is because The lump literally pops back in and I feel instant relief. Does anyone know what it is?

I have exactly the same the pain is like a knot /cramp caused as you said by bending left right or forward and seems to have got larger over the years but you feel it slide and move back down until it pops back wherever. One doctor said there was too much fat in there for anything to move that was a year ago this year I went again and am now having an ultrasound Friday so will report any findings. I have laid legs out of the car when it happened trying to move car seat forward leaning forward to grab the bar under the seat as I try and stretch the area whilst pressing and pushing downwards where pain is. Sorry you have no answers as yet.

Please post your findings if you don't mind. You are the only person who is describing exactly what is going on with me. I'm tired of doctors telling me they don't see anything when I can definitely feel something.

    Dear rshortstop2,

                                 Obviously I won't know through a keyboard and I'm not a doctor.

What you describe sounds very much like a minor rupture of the abdominal wall.

We all pick - up injuries and muscle strains as young people and unfortunately as adults we tend to collect weight around our tummies with unpleasent effects. You are doing the right thing to get it checked out.

Good luck and regards,          Eric F.

Any idea what a minor rupture fix entails?

Thanks for your feedback. I think a tear sounds about right. I had an umbilical hernia corrected a few years back and think it was done badly.

The surgery will depend entirely on the size and position of the damage.  ( I wish to register the warning that I'm not a doctor or surgeon, and could be totally wrong and barking up the wrong tree.)

Their findings may range from strengthening tummy muscles to minor surgery or perhaps just losing weight. There are lots of exercise vids on the internet . Whatever you do, just make it fun and take it easy.

                                         Regards to all Eric F.

Your input is appreciated and I do not believe anyone would take your comments as a GP consultation, it's good to hear someone else's take on a subject sometimes you instantly think no that's not me or mmmm or that sounds just like me, so please don't feel you will be held to account for your comments although I can understand in this day and age the need to offer a disclaimer.

I just wanted to pop back in to say I was told to take coq10. It worked. I've also lost some weight. The pain happens rarely if ever now. I hope you are doing better.

Yep; got one too . Always a weakness at that point . Design failure in human evolution or body structure systems. Problem is, it disapears when one lies down and pressure removed from that point. Examination and ultrasound will find nothing, so operator thinks, "we got a right one here!" Answer will be, 'lose weight', not always easy or even possible. Probably is; a minor tear or rupture weakness in abdominal wall. But, just in case a competent doctor should be consulted. Regards, and best wishes,  E
