Not all day bt most of the day ans a few days at a time....then a few days off.....very anxious, dnt want to keep going to doctors as its keeping the health anxiety strong....any others who have that pain....like imagine you put your hand above your belly button and all that area whrre yor hand is?

Yes I get pain there.  I had pain there for 3 weeks in a row which is why GP suggested the FODMAP Diet.

Hi. I suffer in the same area as well. Above the belly button quite intense dull kind of pain. Will sometimes. travel to left and right sides. Can last for hours at a time, all day on bad days. Doc diagnosed IBS as well.

I've had bloods and physical abdomen exam and am waiting to have stool sample test to check for HPylori.

It's rough when it gets bad can stop your daily routine.

Hi Mary2703, I understand that yes I get it too, it's often caused by excess acid which is part of ibs due to food and how it goes down the digestive tract the stomach works too hard and over compensates causing too much acid, which I have found is more than a problem than the bowel problems created to do with ibs. Get it checked out!

Well thank you g75183 - i have suffered with IBS and diverticulitis for years and only this week have I experienced pain where you are mentioning. I din't think it was to do with my ibs but now reading this and the replies I think maybe it is. Thanks again and to the others who have replied.

I suffer from chronic constipation despite following a healthy diet. I suffer from stabbing pains below the belly button and on my right side underneath my rib cage. I am wheat, lactose intolerant and eating foods with a high sugar content makes me feel very unwell.

Hi Marion I feel for you, luckily the intolerances I don't suffer from, but the sugar thing worries me.  You may need the help of a decent dietician, ask what options can be explored 1st.  It's ok giving a diagnosis but whatever happened to the follow up care?

I have a good gastroenterologist who I have been seeing for the past 10 years and regularly see a dietician. They want me to try the fodmap diet now and so I have been referred to a dietician specialising in it. I was on a supplement drink but this contained sucrose, I had to stop taking this as it made me feel very unwell. If I continue to loose weight, they will have to look at other options. I am so fed up, my diet is restricted enough.
