Achilles tendon pain really getting to me

Hi all

I started training for the gteat north run did it right stretched out my legs warmed up and cooled down was doing fine then one day on tredmill i almost fell over with a debilitating pain in my left ancle. That was 2 months ago the pain is now in my whole calfand my foot feels cold all the time. Its really worrying me now i have had to pull out of the run and im devistated about that but my health comes first. Any advice is greatly appreciated xx

    You have been to your GP? You can self refer to physiotherapy on the NHS in most areas, or your gym should be able to point you to a private physio.

    I had a similar gym experience a couple of years back and the 'cure' was a busted Achilles tendon.

      Yeah been to doc he says torn tendon and muscle damage complete rest for a week them nothing for 6 weeks at least they said but pain is still the same starting to think i have done long term damage 😔

    You need an MRI done. There is no way I would let any doctor tell me to rest it a week or 6 weeks until there was a test completed and a specialist looked at it. I am 11 weeks post op on a torn achilles tendon and still barely walking.
