Hey Guys i think i may have IBS

It al initally started as food poisoning but for 3 weeks i still havent healed, i have been to my GP had a blood test and bacterial stool sample all came back as normal.

Every morning i have such a strong sickness feeling lump in throat feeling which on some days causes me to puke out acid. Also i pass slimy stool which is painful to pass then throughout the day i suffer from cramps and dont even go to the toilet to pass any bowel movement i only pass my BM'S in the morning. Every time i eat i feel so sick which has made me loose my appetite i have been A&E twice now

they have advised me to keep on bland foods, my GP has asked me for another stool sample to test for inflamation, the cramping can sometimes be so bad that it makes my cry normally i have a very high threshold for pain but this pain is unberable!

Has anyone suffered anything like this in the past or can give advice on any good remedies i can do at home that can prticularly help with the cramping?

Thanks

Although your case sounds more serious in terms of the symptoms, I've twice had food-poisoning type illnesses that, like yours, wouldn't quite go away.

In both cases, I finally ridded myself of the bug by not eating anything for a couple of days, only water.  Apparently, as long as the bugs aren't fed, the gut can cleanse itself of the starving critters.

I hope that you and your GP get ths under control soon, since painful symptoms are suggestive of the possibility of gut damage that could bring it's own complications.

      Hey Dan,

Firstly thank you so much for replying, when I went to a&e she said that long term if it still continues they would have to perform a colonoscopy to check what's happening inside my gut.

All day today I been mostly in bed with a hot water bottle I feel so depressed, I keep questioning am I ever going to have a normal life again I'm only 21 and this has come out of nowhere .

I have tried not eating anything and just having fluids it tends to give me a very bad migraine if I don't eat anything so the pain just gets worse.

I'm losing weight from this, missing work I'm worried I actually might get sacked soon because of this.

All I wanna do is get better I have sent a second stool sample today lets hope for the best buy right now nothing seems to be happening. All day I just feel so weak and so tired it's just horrible man.

Hi, do you have any other symptoms at all?

ringing in the ears, pins and needles, muscles aches?

The reason i ask is because i have found i am b12 deficient with similar tummy problems to yourself, it was because I went to gp with serious 'runs' that they found out. B12 blood test is not routinely given, but is often connected to ibs.

Kash you do indeed sound quite sick. You'll get better just hang in there. I have had a lot of success with organic coconut water. What happens with the runs is your body is trying to rid itself of the nasties that upset it in the first place. Coconuts are a powerhouse food. This is why you are getting the headaches and feel so yuk. The reflux is hopefully short term with you stressing out over your job. I would try and eat plain things like Jatz crackers with no butter. If your throat is tender I suck on baby rusks. Hope you improve soon!

Thank you so much for your advice, I only realised today that I have private medical care with my job so I'm seeing a Gastroenterologist tomorrow hopefully this will shed some light on what is going on inside of my body.

I was literally in bed crying today because I was having silent reflux no acid was coming out but the sensation was so strong that my abdomen muscles started hurting after.

I've stopped drinking lucozade because I heard that helps give you lost nutrients but the drink itself is quite acidity. I really miss having a normal life eating what i want, what I miss the most though is my big appetite I used to have.

Thank you for all your well wishes guys really appreciate them all I will keep you all updated on what happens tomorrow.

I also think that you have a problem but it is good that all your samples were clear. Have you been tested for c-diff or SIBO or blood tested for liver function and renal function ? How you describe it is how I used to feel when I had a digestive enzyme problem.

Hey JP3 if you don't mind me asking what was your digestive enzyme problem related too? Did you always have a constant full feeling even though you had not eaten anything?

Loss of appetite is the biggest symptom I'm having along with acid reflux the green stools still have not stopped and I am getting a weird smell accompanied with them.

My problem was my pancreas wasn't producing enough stuff to break my food down so now I take artificial digestive enzymes when I eat, your problem I hope they identify for you and sort it out.

Ohh hope all is going well! Was that diagnosed by a Gastroenterologist too? Thanks for all your info hopefully I can get a awnser I'm just getting some anxiety as I hope it's nothing serious ! 😔

No mine was diagnosed by a hepto billiary specialist. Anxiety won't help just keep pushing them to find out what's wrong. Thank you yes, things have been going very well. Good luck.
