Diet, not eating three hours before, exercise and modify bed. Surgery is only last resort. You need an ent Dr not gi specialist. Each will give u their version. The side effects shouldn't be longer than its benefits to you. If you feel it's horrible, then if the list I included isn't on your list then it sounds like surgery might be for you. I for one don't want someone cutting into me, so I changed duet, bed, don't eat certain things, don't eat three hours before n still end up in hospital from silent reflux. I don't have GERD. I have LPR. Hope it all works out for you.

      Hi mamaTi.

I too have lpr and NOT gerd, I never suffered with heartburn or indigestion, but I do suffer with burning in back of throat, hoarseness, coughing after eating and my worst and most frightening symptom is asthma like wheezing at certain times of the day (mainly morning and evening). My question is can I ask what it is you have been hospitalized for? Because I have been hospitalized 3 times in the last 2 months with what the docs are convinced are asthma attacks, I however am convinced its lpr related and not asthma at all, but I'm struggling to be taken seriously with tho by the respiratory doctors! I was put on omeprazole by gp a couple months ago and that has definitely help a little with cough. Iv lost so much weight, I'm now down to 7.5stone as iv developed a terrible relationship with food now, I'm doin everything they Say, cutting out fats no eating hours before bed, iv stopped cafine, nicotine and alcohol completely but still suffering! I'm a busy 34yr old hairdresser and mum to little ones, can I ask you how long you have been a sufferer and is there anything you do to help symptoms? This is all pretty new (and scary) to Me! Thanks! X

I had my wrap back in May this year aged 64. Everything was great until Week 7 when I woke up coughing. Slowly been getting worst and now I'm back to where I was previously. Bed propped up, PPIs, Gerd diet and still having mainly night time problems. However, I do have a post nasal drip from an injury many years ago and I'm hoping this is causing LPR systoms. Back to have a PH test and an endoscopy in a week and hopefully I'll be told the wrap is working perfectfully and I can start a new journey to try and solve my problem. I'll keep you posted about how succesfull my surgery was.

Hi tony sorry to hear your symptoms have returned hope you figure it out .I also have postnatal drip I have enlarged turbinates and the reflux irritates this for sure mainly at night feels like I have a cold all the time and chronic cough I am assuming you have seen a ent doctor may be worth trying if not.

Now I await ph test and then possible surgery little bit unsure on what to do really I don't get any pain in chest or anything like that it's more the nasal problems and sore throat it's been going on about a year for me unfortunately I have side effects from the ppi and they don't do much tbh hope things work out for you tony

    Hi russ

I'm the same. No pain or heart burn in chest. All in my throat, continual coughing and throat clearing. At the worst times its up nasal passages. Things are bad at the moment as I have gone of PPIs and H2 blockers for the Ph test next Tuesday / Wed. I'm hoping the results are good so I can see a ENT and sort out the problem.
