If your face is hot and burning you may be experiencing a side effect from topical steroid creams called topical steroid addiction or withdrawal. You can google this on the Internet for more information.

There's also a condition called steroid induced acne from using steroid creams. The answer would be to not resume using the steroid creams. You may well go through a worsening skin period before things get better. It would be worth you looking this condition up to see if your feel your symptoms fit. Good luck.

the last doctor i went to see also said that it has to do with my immune system and that its just something ill have to learn to live with.

Is the burning sensation when they start to get bad or is the burning sensation WITH putting creams on it?

Also, which over the counter items have you tried?

Both my father and I got eczema in our early thirties out of no where and I can say that your symptoms sound familiar, especially since my skin got so sensitive that where it was started to burn. I tried all kinds of different soaps, facial cleansers and creams and lotions and it turned out to be as simple as 3 days of cortizone 10, 3 times a day (suggested by my father after he had gone through the same song and dance).

its in both situations, when i use creams and face wash and just at random times during the day.

the last doctor i saw just said that it 'PROBABLY' has something to do with my immune system and ill just have to learn to live with it and sent me on my way.

im just sick of spending hundreds of dollars seeing these doctors to tell me they dont know.

they are just your usual creams like the dermoveen, antging gentle just to moisturise my dry skin.

and few steriod pills and creams that work for the months cours and just stop.

although i did have antibiotics they cleared everything up straight away and i was good for a week but as soon as i went off them it went straight back to being crap again.

im now on to trying any myth and bacterial wash rolleyes

I would agree that it may be related to your immune system, afterall, everyone on here is probably highy sensitive to all kinds of things like adhesive from bandages and weather changes. Your immune system may not be able to cope with all the chemicals in the things you are using. However, I do not agree with your doctor saying you just have to deal with it. I would consult another doctor or dermatologist about trying more gentle creams or medicines.

I feel like ive tried everything in the way of creams and ointments.

You can imagine how it feels to go to the doctor and have him tell you just to toughen up and live with it, didnt leave the doctors office with much confidence.

I have tried so many things for my skin and scalp.  I feel like the things the doctors gave me just make my symptoms worse because the chemicals were so harsh.  They seem to be built to treat the problem instead of preventing the problem from happening in the first place.  I don't have the exact symptoms you have (I personally have seborrheic dermatitis and eczema), so I can't promise anything, but I really like MooGoo skin products!  To be honest, for me their product was like a miracle... worked immediately for me (after 20 years of doctor visits and suffering I must add)!   I couldn't believe I found something that worked!

How I found out about it... About a couple years ago I went searching online for answers just like you are.  I found different forums and amongst all the advice I noticed one pattern several mentions of moogoo.  It was the one thing I never heard of or tried so I figured what was there to loose.  It was the BEST decision I ever made!

They are a great company.  If you go to their site, look over their products.  If you have questions, just email them. I think you might like their body/face wash (says body wash, but also says it was meant for face... it just also works for the body).  Their products are SUPER gentle!  They are created to help soothe the skin and PREVENT flare ups.  I don't know if it will for sure work for you, but from my experience its always good to try something at least once... you may just find your miracle!

note:  you may want to consider a wash and a cream... I LOVE their creams, and using both really helps me.

I am currently going through what seems to be TSW from using both 1% hydrocortison cream on my face off and on for several years. I was told years ago and even recently by Drs and pharmacists that it is safe to use as long as I don't continuously use it more than 7 days. Flare ups started to occur more often and was forced to use it every other week for about 5 days each time. I felt this isn't good for my face and started researching and decided to stop the cream. My face blew up! First week was horrible red, raw, burning in all the spots I've used the cream including my top lip...then the drying, tight, flaking started! I'm currently two weeks and two days off the cream and am starting to see a little improvement but still very uncomfortable. I couldn't even open my mouth to eat or talk from the dryness. I am taking strong probiotics, taking crushed garlic cloves daily, eating green smoothies with kale, parsley, lemon, berries, Apple, chia seeds...all healthy stuff and staying off white flour and sugar to hopefully strengthen my immune system. I've been asking God for direction and guidance with this horrible nightmare...I will keep u in my prayers as well.
