Running ants feeling, muscle spasm, weakness in left arm, hair loss and constant tiredness.

Hello guys, i am 18 years old and have been suffering from muscle spasms across my whole body. The spasms occur almost everywhere, ranging from my biceps to eyes. Moreover, i have been getting the feeling of "running ants" throughout my body, particularly in my left shoulder blade region. This feeling can be unbearable at times. In addition this, for the last few weeks i have been noticing a signifcant decrease in the strength of my left arm, this is even noticable when i am doing daily tasks or lying down in bed, Whereby my left arm feels "drained" in comparison to my right arm. I did some research and was told that i may lack magnesium in my diet, I took a poweder called "Moringa" which is high in magnesium and various other vitamins. I must say it did help but by no means did it cure my problem. Naturally, i wanted to see exactly what as going on so i did a blood test that measured my magnesium and calcium levels. However, my results were shown to be all normal but i definitelyddo not feel normal. What kind of nureological problem am i suffering from? is there anyone who has had similar experiences? what should i do?

Lastly, i think it is important to note that i also feel tired all the time, my hair has been falling out, especially my short hairs that haven't even grown a full cycle. This has become noticeable where there seems to be small patches of thinning/missing hair on my scalp. I have been trying to take vitamin D and Iron supplements to prevent this from happening but i'm not sure whether thats been helping.

I feel that i am not in touch with reality, i constantly feel the need to stretch, i don't have energy to do anything despite getting plenty of sleep. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Zak so sorry to hear you are having these symptoms, I can understand it is very scary and you are desperately looking for answers.

My best advice would be to go and see your GP and ask to be referred to a neurologist. They are specialists in this area.

Altough I know it's very hard please try and stay positive and stay away from Dr Google, this will only add to your worries.

Take care of yourself and God Bless.

Hi zak I'm sorry for your problems and I also going through the same things you are, just diagnosed with lupus and hoping to get some relief. You definitely need to be checked for lupus. I'm also going deeper with my test and having them check me for Lyme disease.

Hi Zak, so sorry you are having so many problems. I have been diagnosed with Lupus & one of the bad side affects is hair loss. I wasn't losing a whole lot - but bad enough for me ask what to do. So I am taking the vitamin Biotene - (one tab - 10,000 mcg daily) & it has helped. Hope you can get a diagnose soon & get better.

Will keep you in my prayers. Celia 🙏🏼

Hi Sam, I'm sorry - I misspelled Biotin (I had it Biotene which has  products for dry mouth which I have.  I also take Folic Acid that my Rheumatologist prescribed for me & the vitamin "Hair, Nails & Skin".

i accidentally ended my reply before I was through. You might need to see a Rheumatologist,  but it's probably a good idea to start with a Neurologist. My prayers are with you & pray that you will find out

    Hi Zak,

I would ask your doctor to refer you for a blood test.

You will probably find something along the lines of Vitamin B12 or folate deficiency anaemia. It will depend on your daily diet, perhaps you're not eating enough fruit and vegatables which would account for folate deficiency anaemia.

Avoid grapes, grapefruit and pineapple. Until you know the outcome of the blood tests.

    Regards,

    Les.
