After been down for 5 months and trying to take my own life my gp increased my Meds and suggested mood stabilisers . I'm still feeling down but better than I have been

I take a medication which does a very inportant job, the medical profession don't know exactly how it works, just that it does very well.
A mental health specialist or psychiatrist would have to prescribe these for you. It is very unlikely that a GP would take this up on his own, because sole repsonsibility would be down to him and he is probably not qualified in this area.

My sister is bipolar and has been for decades, Your doctor would shoot me for saying this, but do your best to fight this depression/manic whatever it is. Drugs will help, but you need to be strong. My sister just gave up.
