    Hi Lee

I understand your frustration with the damn floaters. I had a PVD two years ago that led to a Retinal Tear and because it wasnt dealt with promptly, I was left with a load of floaters in one eye. All I will to ye is after the year Ive had so far with the chronic dry eye and the Bleph., I will never moan about floaters again. They dont cause us pain and affect the appearance of your eyes and Im sure youve done your own research but there is only procedure to rectify them (virectomy) and its a very risky one that eye surgeons dont recommend for floaters. I hope you can get your head around dealn with them, I know its taken me a long time and it wasnt until something worse arose that they stopped bothering me but hopefully you will come to terms with havin them and maybe with all the medical research thats goin on there will be a safe procedure for dealn with them...

      Hi Elaine

youre best to see an Ophtamologist....I tried for 5 days to get an appointment at the time and was left waiting so my tear got bigger and I also ended up with a virteous hemorage...I dont blame ye being freaked out, I remember how frightened I was but Id say you will be OK, I think it just takes time for the hemorage to settle but in my case I had to have surgery for the retinal tear.

I had a hemorage scared the heck out of me. I have pvds in both eyes. If there is a symptom ive had it. My anxiety is also through the roof.

It seems many people right now are suffering from floaters. Take a look at some of the other threads under Eye Problems. Many people have contributed suggestions.

I have pvd from three years ago. I was diagnosed with optic nerve pallor two years ago. Petrfying and get crazy anxiety of fears from this. This post is scary! I saw a nuero opthamologist for a solid year and now i have to see opthamologist every six months. I see all weird stuff at night sometimes. If im tired sometimes light or sliver circle thing. I do use refresh for the eye dry eye plays a role. I cant handle any more issues personally. They do have a surgery to remove floaters-my opthamologist told me. I wouldnt do it i feel the eye might not be able to handle it. Tons of people get pvd and it remains stabile. I also saw a retina specialist the day it occured it was so strange and scary. And we had had a hurricane a bad one here in the usa called sandy. The pvd calms down to a floater or two later in time but it does something to your vision. I think the floaters things pass by and it makes vision weid. I dont know the specifics. I was told by many specialist it stabilizes and is so common. Anyone with this should be under the care of a specialist opthamologist and checked yearly at the very least.i go every six months because of the optic nerve pallor thing which they are still trying to cure. They think the optic nerve pallor originated from viral labrynthitis i had in 2007 but took years to show itself. This just all terryfies me i have to be careful to remain as calm as i can.went into a series of terribile anxiety attacks for six weeks because i couldnt handle what happened. The therapist i saw even felt bad. Decieded best to be as calm as possible and not predict the furture with it.i do pray science figures out how to fix optic nerves and that technology gets stronger and better really fast. I have this and ear issues and between the two sometimes i think in a bad way. Cant use any meds. I stay away from forum that talk about this cause its too much for me but it popped up. these issues here is what is a huge huge trigger for me with anxiety attacks. I wasnt going to write anything but figured why not. I wish every one on here wonderful health.
