Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with IBS-D about 10yrs ago, which has been mostly dormant for 4 yrs. About 11 weeks ago I started losing my appetite and feeling very unwell after eating or a bm, I went to the doc's and was put on PPI's for a suspected peptic ulcer, however had to switch to H2 blockers as they disagreed with my IBS. My symptoms have become more diverse and detrimental, I have lots of abdominal cramps, tiredness, anxiety, migraines and muscle spasms along with no appetite and the feeling of bloating/vomiting. All tests (h.ployi, stool, blood) have comeback negative, and I'm losing the will to live

There is a camera test used for diagnosing Crohn's . The camera is in a pill you swallow and goes in the area where an endoscopy and a colonoscopy can't reach. The pill will eventually pass through your stool. Good luck.

Ask GP for gastroenterlogist. do it now before it is too late. Meanwhile, you have to be on strict diet. No alcohol or cafeiine or spicy food. Try to relax, do exercise etc... Hope you get well soon. Your symptoms sound similar to depression. Are you in Australia? If you are contact Helpline. Hope you get well soon.

Thanks, I will do. Seeing the GP on Friday as my colonoscopy / gastroscopy has been delayed. I'm in the UK, I've given up everything except for porridge, plain chicken and water.

Best of luck. For my husband I cook instant cream of rice cereal every morning with lactose free milk. He doesn't tolerate oatmeal very well. I remember with our babies (many years ago) the doctors would have us start with rice cereal. Many people with stomach issues are lactose intolerant. Again best of luck.

Have you been tested for lupus . I have been diagnosed with Crohn's but 2 months ago I was diagnosed with lupus. My Gi says it's very common for lupus and gi issues go hand in hand. You might want them to ask for a and double stranded Dna test. I hope it helps.

Update, spoke to my doctor and was told there is not much that can be done until I get the scopes, unfortunately the medical secretary was on holiday so I've only just been referred. Doc has booked me in for more bloods and told me to take operzalol and the h2 blockers together, so I'm back to 3am diarrhea and ibs symptoms from the ppi while I wait

Patience and persistence.  Patience on waiting for test results.  But persistence on getting appointments with specialists.  You are your most important concern and you will drop through the cracks of the medical system if you are not persistent.  Best of luck to you.
