Post spinal surgery injections

Hi guys, after suffering severe back pain and sciatica which started around 2 yrs ago which left me always unable to walk, I was pit on a massive amount of pain killers- 125mg oxycodone + oxycodone liquid form as needed, 2400mg Gabapentin, 16 mg diazapam, naproxoin and paracetamol!! I also take 400mg Lamotrogine for my epilepsy which can also be used to treat nerve receptors. I later found out that my L4 + L5 had sloped in over and had reduced the flow of spinal fluid! I was eventually given surgery after trouble passing urine to remove both discs which did relieve the sciatic pain but not the back pain. My right bum cheek and part of my upper thigh is still numb 16mth post surgery!!! I can't have aTens Machine due to my epilepsy and have been given Baclofen ontop of all my other concoction of meds. I am now due to go in for spinal injections because of exrutionong pain in my coccyx - cortisone and anistetic combine whilst being given X-ray or ultrasound scan. I wasn't given a lot of info about these by the pain specialist but have no other choice as I am on every med possible!!!! Has anyone had these or can give me any info? These will be given in my lower spine, how was the pain factor? I'll try anything if it works tho so I can start to come off my opioids which my body is totall addicted to now sad thanks in advance xx

Yikes! I never heard of such a high dose of pain meds. My new pain med doctor (my old one retired) had a cow because I was on 15mg of oxycodone 6 times a day - that's 90 mg daily. She said that was toxic.  So, I've been reduced to 5 times a day. I'm also on 2400 mg gabapentin. Not sure you should be on both diazepam and baclofen at the same time.  Are all of these meds being prescribed by one doctor? There's a new device out called NEVRO SENSO HF10 that is a neurostimulator implanted in your back  It's like an internal tens unit but there is no tingling or feeling like you get with a TENS unit.  My docor has recommended it for me, but frankly, I've read a lot of bad reviews that concern me, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.  I'm getting sympathetic nerve blocks right now. Yeah, back surgery does not usually help with back pain. Good luck with your spinal injections.  Those kind did not help me, but they totally cured my boyfriend's  backpain.  Please know that there are others here who understand what you are goimh through with your pain and I am so sorry you are goimg through this. It's sure not fair. Take care.

Could you tell me what you decided to do? I have had 3 back surgeries because my first surgeon ruined my back. I did a trial of the Metronic pain stimulator and a pain pump. Neither worked for me.

I am considering Nevro HF 10. My back started getting to where I could take less pain meds a year ago. I had breast cancer surgery in January, followed by 63 radiation treatments. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but now I am back having a lot of pain again.

Hi..I dont know if this is too old now...but from what you say at the end there they are going to give you a caudal epidural....Just to say I lived on these prior to my operation (my third!) 5 weeks ago. And they are marvellous!

Cannot recommend them enough, got me out of massive pain and lasted for about 3 months each time. I had 7 of them before my surgery. They are no more than uncomfortable when adminsitered but well worth it! If you need more info please dont hesitate to contact me
