Anyone else out there currently have this. Mine erupted at the same time as chronic gum disease. Keen to hear other experiences.

So, i thought pain was gum disease (huge bleeding from one tooth in particular was the starting point, further bleeding from gums in general and have lost lots of gum around two front teeth which is horrible, gums have receded very badly and mouth, particulary the ridge of the palate and my tongue were burning, nippy, tingly all the time.) After several weeks of this, mouthwash, toothpastes, new brushes, floss, interdental brushes, vit supplements, antibiotics, visit to emergecny weekend service and more antibiotics, eventally got refererred to a periodontist who confirmed what everyone else had said whcih was advanced gum disease but also bms. You;d think my dentist of 25 years plus would have known this.
so like you, have 2 problems whcih have to be related. Have had blood tests to rule out other things. My own feeling is that this is stress/hormone/anxiety related - essentially HORMONES of some sort or another. Am to speak with gp on monday by phone to discuss next step. Oral medicine is not really an option since the dept is short staffed, no consultant blah blah, so gp is all I have. Not sure if dental treatment will help or not. Time wil tell. I am just 56 and an worried that i will be unable to continue to work, keep solvent and keep house etc.
Sorry for long reply, it's never a short story is it?

Am in Edinburgh. I read about the gums receding after cleaning. I had necrotising gingivitis (again dentist has no idea why but reckons it was stress related) and lost loads of gum aruond one eye tooth in particular - reckon that tooth will have to go after cleaning since bone loss is at 60% there. Better start saving my pennies for the dental plate. So upset about all of this which of course is not helping the bms. Am off to O2 this weekend to see Electric Light Orchestra so am planning on packing in the painkillers to see me through. What a carry on.
Anyway, at least we now have each other to share this awful stuff - bet there are few who are dealing with the bms and dental nightmares!! Mx
