I have been in confusion for the last two years that whether i have fissures or some kind of hemorrhoids. I don't experience bleeding while passing stool but remain in pain but for some days i become symptom free and then again start to experience pain. I can't eat spicy foods they give me a higher degree of pain while passing stool and another thing i want to add that whenever i get diarrhea or loose stools i get more pain then normal stools. I use GTN to help out for my condition and most of the time it help me out but when i suffer from pain and don't use GTN i feel a sore anus and very painful to pass stool. I have been to many doctors they say that i have a fissure but i believe that i might have hemorrhoids in addition to fissure. I will be having LIS at the start of next year but before that i want to make sure whether i just have fissure or i also have hemorrhoids.

I just want to ask the people who have ever suffered from anal fissures that when you get diarrhea or loose stool does the intensity of anal pain increase?? And am I suffering from hemorrhoids also in your opinion?? Plz answer me i will be very thankful to you all

Pain from an anal fissure is more excruciating than pain from external hemorrhoids. It hurts for hours and a lot worse than external hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids don't hurt, but do bleed. I have suffered from all 3, so I can honestly say this. The pain is intense for hours after a bum and at times does seem worse with loose stools. I hope this helps you with your question. I honestly thought I was going crazy because of the pain.

Firstly i want to thanku for your reply. The thing is that i get healed to the point where i feel minor pain but later some day i get a bad bm and go to the same point where i started and have the same higher degree of pain which makes me want to avoid going for bm and this all cycle repeats again and again

I understand what you're saying. The specialist I went to told me to try less caffeine and use fiber, such as Metamucil. I also read on here that the best thing was drinking a lot of water. I am doing better, at least I can function most of the time, but occasionally, it's as bad as ever. I really don't know the answer, but I'm thinking the water is probably helping the most. Just being able to read what others have said about the pain lets me know I'm not crazy. I have had to leave work in tears to go home, take a sitz bath, take pain medication, and lay in bed on my tummy. I'm a teacher, and if it wasn't for great co-workers and a great aide, I'm not sure what I would have done. They could tell by my look that I was in pain and tell me to leave. I thank God for them.

    Yes Hamee,

The pain from a fissure is horrendous after a bm, and spicy food, also the frequency of having a bm,makes the burning far far worse

I'm lying down now in agony, after going twice today it feels like passing broken glass.

I also have external piles which are very swollen,so all in all yes, you could have internal piles, you would feels external ones, and they would bleed, but it sounds more likely you have a fissure.

I bleed a lot, and have just had a rectocele repair so daredn't get constipated, but the pain is terrible.

I use wet wipes instead of toilet paper and lots of sudocrem, also a stool softener, but still the skin splits with every bm.

If you are suffering more pain after eating spicy foods and with looser stools then it is more likely that you have a fissure as the intensity of the spice etc will be passing over it.

Your surgeon will tell you if you have both and should do something to help when you have op.

I think you have both, especially if diarrhea hurts you.

I just had botox for a fissure, and banding of haemarrhoids. It is two weeks

Since the op, and whilst I am in pain, it doesn't rival what I suffered

    for the past ten months.

LIS is an option, but I think you would benefit from banding, it sounds like

    you have internal roids.

Wish you well. Try taking Moviscol once a day and eat fruit, no acidic.

    WATER, its so vital.

    And no spicy food!
