Hemorrhagic/complex ovarian cyst for 8 months

Hi everyone, I'm dealing with a hemorrhagic/complex ovarian cyst for 8 months. I went to the gynecologist in November due to some vaginal bleeding that I had after intercourse. I might've bled one other time after intercourse, and only happened when it's rough. I'm just looking for some peace of mind. I was originally told from the first ultrasound that it's a hemorrhagic cyst, that an endometrioma isn't ruled out. Then on the 2nd ultrasound in February, it said possible dermoid cyst or other lesion, in which case my gynecologist recommended an MRI. In February, the MRI came back and said that the cyst appears hemorrhagic. I've had follow-up ultrasounds ever since, April, May, and July. The cyst has shrunk from the first ultrasound, but the measurements are as follows:
November:
3.2 x 2.8 x 2.5
February: 3.2 x 2.6 x 2.9
February MRI: 3 x 1.7 x 2.7
April: 2.7 x 2.1 x 2.9
May: 2.9 x 2.4 x 2.7
July: 2.8 x 2.4 x 2.6
I also had a blood test for CA125 this week, which came back normal at an 8.
I'm very worried, and totally freak out and shut down in panic when I have anything wrong medically. My gynecologist recommended that I follow up with a gynecological oncologist just for a consultation and see if they want me to wait and watch it or do a biopsy. I couldn't get an appointment with that doctor until I see another gynecologist that specializes in ovarian cysts who would determine from there if they should do a biopsy.
What I'm most concerned about is, could this ever go away on it's own?

I forgot to mention that I'm 28 years old about to be 29, and every ultrasound since the MRI has shown no change in texture and is still thought to be hemorrhagic.

It doesn't sound too big at all,
it doesn't change in size (a few mm are easy to measure differently)
everything looks fine,
but you might (especially instead of a biopsy) get it out via laparoscopy.
It looks unlikely to burst on its own (usual cut off is 8-12 weeks).
No matter if it was a normal luteal hemorrhagic persitent cyst, an endometrioma or complex cyst.
The monitoring is draining on you.
I had a 3cm in diameter (never the volume was measured) simple cyst, a year later 5cm simple cyst, a year later 9cm simple cyst. Due to size and perseverance decided to take it simply out.
Upon surgery the ultrasound showed a complex cyst actually.
No markers, no MRI was done, said to look malignant. (?)
It was a dermoid cyst at the end with teeth and hair and all.
It would have never ever burst.
The surgery was uneventful.
Recovered within days.

Thanks, Sanya. May I ask, how old are you? I wanna avoid surgery as much as possible because I'm terrified of it.
I'd follow whatever they suggest, though. It doesn't cause me much trouble, maybe a little pain around the time of my period, but that's it. As long as it doesn't bother me, I'd prefer to leave it in. I just need peace of mind that it's benign.

Of course you may.
I was 29 when dermoid cyst was removed laparoscopically (home next day).
(27 when monitoring started with 3cm diameter where you are at now
and I wasn't nervous about it - I only had once a year ultrasound since it looked 'simple' - just a liquid filled blob - and actually at the end turned out to have been complex, but hence also never burst and disappeared in years to come.)
My child had laparascopic surgery with 14.

Luteal hemorrhagic cysts are said to be normal to a diameter size of 3cm.
The peace of mind can never be achieved with imaging (ultrasound/MRI - as you see in results, could it be hemorrhagic - simple, endometrioma or dermoid - complex ???) or blood markers,
only via histology.
So you might head down the biopsy path then.
(would have been no option for me honestly)

So sorry for your suffering. I don't understand wait and see. The shrinkage does not appear to be sognificant. I understand 6 cm is the breakpoint where removal becomes part if the conversation.
I went right to a gynecological oncologist due to the large size of my cysts and the initial cancer diagnosis. He immediately calmed my fear with 97% confidence it was not cancer just from x-rays. He ordered other tests to confirm prior to surgery.
In your case just the continued bleeding would make be nuts. Potential infection etc. But an gyne/oncol specialist is tbe expert you want for surgery. Laparoscopy due to small size is quick, both surgery and recovery. Worth regaining peace of mind and gynecological health. You are to young to be so stressed over a health issue that obviously has not resolved. Your CA 125 is excellent but that isn't your only concern.
Besides I assume they would open you to biopsy so why not take the opportunity and biopsy after removal? Try to relax and focus on getting that annoying cyst temoved and recover your peace of mind.
