Your main worry is one in 10 get chronic pain.

As for ED and or testosterone issues that can be down to the mess the doctor operating causes.

I wouldn't be getting it done unless you are in a long term relationship or indeed at all given the pain risks. As a couple we regret the snip as I am in so much pain. Use condoms. Surgery is surgery and does go wrong.

Dont do it. just dont do it!. Its not worth it. 

Even if its a !No scalpel and open ended vasectomy", there will still be some side effects. Im serious - dont do it!..

Hi joe.. i can only comment on what has happened to myself over past 3 weeks... also i was on here the other day looking for advice.. i got it done 3 weeks ago.. wer they cut and burn ends of tubes... the only soar thing i felt was the jag into each tube which lasts about 5 secs.... then in about ten minutes i was on the way home..... my left testie..and tube running up into my abdonam great ... my right a lot of pain ... the pain should leave 3 to 5 days it didnt.. so i rebooked back in my problem was the tube had reattached intself to my sack via scar tissue so every time i moved down ther it felt like a kick in the nuts.... they went back in n fixed it in 10mins...and relief wasnt the word... as for ID and ni liquid im just the same as i was... the ngt i had op i was just as horny as always and no rpoblems getting hard or with fluid.... when i read some if the stories on here my heart gies out to these guys and if i had read on here before i had op i wouldnt have done it.... but then theres also millions of guys who have had it with no probs.... just remember this is a forum who the people hav had problems so mostly everythin you read will be about priblems.... i did it because i didnt want my wife to go threw the op....abd be able to come off contraception.... we have 5 kids and also our 2 boys have autism.... so make ur decision on whats best for you and your family and hve possituve thinking and what eva u do.... u b fine... good luck

I would strongly encourage you not to do it.  Read the discussion in the weekly forum entitled, "Anybody had vasectomy reversal fix erection issues/erectile dysfunction ???".  You will read about the men who had a vasectomy and had a negative outcome.  We are still trying to find the solution to our ed problems that didn't exist before the vasectomy.

I had the procedure done 9 months ago now.

I was supposed to have a no scalpel procedure but the doctor that was going to do it got sick and another filled in for him, he did a single incision at the base of my penis.

Similar to another reply, the scar tissue from my left testicle attached to the scar tissue from the incision, so any movement of my penis flipped and pulled my testicle along with it.

The doctor insisted that there was nothing wrong, and when I demonstrated the problem he said 'Well don't do that' (I moved my penis similar to what would happen during sex)

I saw a specialist and they explained what happened but advised that I not try to surgically fix it right away.

Over time it has mostly calmed down and it is stretching to the point it mostly tracks normal.

My only major side effect that has remained is that my ejaculations have lost almost all force (it kind of just comes out most of the time)

And my balls smell like semen when I get sweaty.

All in all I don't regret it now, but there was about 6 months that I was pretty p*ssed.

?Mate read it! over 2 years down the line and im still having issues, including testicular pain from post vasectomy pain syndrome. My erectile dysfunction is still a biggy. Im seriously considering a reversal this year or early 2017. My advise to you and all guys contemplating it is... DO NOT DO IT, under any circumstances. I wish i asked questions like you have instead of trusting the doctors that assured me it was a safe procedure with minimal risks. Stick to conventional contraception.

I’ve been in pain for 13 years. Thousands of men have complications from vasectomies.

There are university studies that show about 30% of vasectomies have problems in the future.

15% have major to moderate problems. Mine started within 2 weeks!!!

Im in the moderate range and my testosterone dropped from 980 to 240 in about 2.5 years.

I had to go on testosterone replacement therapy. Its been proven that if you have pain in your testicles your body reduces T output.

 My left tets always aches and about 10 times a year the pain goes to a 5 out of 10 for weeks on end. I’ve done hundreds of hours of research and now have to manage my hormone levels because local MDs don’t have a clue about hormone balance and they messed mine up for about 2 years until I did my own research and fixed it myself.

Got mine done Sept 9. Was a little scared to say the least on getting it done.  Did a lot of reading on it but with two sons didn't  want to have anymore. (Can't afford it living in the bay area in Cali).  It was more pain than I thought considering my co-worker got his done and was working the next day.  I was out for the whole week after my procedure.  My balls turned black and blue literally and hurt like a mother but once I released dam the pressure subsided and helped a lot.  Mine was done by getting cut and the doctor getting both vas from that one cut.  Now its been a little over two weeks and have no effects just waiting for my stitch to fall off.  I know there can be complications with any surgery but that is the chance you take. My co-worker is fine I'm fine. But reading to what can happen with other men you have to take into consideration what you want to do.  We are just trying to give you all the info you need to make a decision but it is up to you weather or not you want to do it. good luck
