I know it was Avapro (Irbesartan)

I started Avapro just before I started college to treat my high blood pressure due to kidney disease.

It completely drained me of energy. I was so tired I had trouble concentrating and spent most of my time sleeping. I did go back to my specialist and gp to tell them the issues I was having but they told me they had no idea what it could be. I didn't find out it was Avapro until I was off my medication for a few weeks and my energy came back.

Anyone else have severe fatigue and extreme tiredness from Avapro aka Irbesartan?

dennis33...you need to emphasize to your Dr. about what happened. Your energy has returned since stopping that particular medication. I do not advocate anyone stopping medication without consulting their doctor. BP meds are very important, & you run the risk of your bp spiking when you stop. There are other medications out there that can help you. You didn't really say how long you'd been on the Avapro. That can be important too. If it was just 2 weeks, perhaps a little more time needed to be given for your body to adjust. If it was longer, then perhaps that medication isn't for you. By all means, get back to your doctor.

Trust me, doctor knows, and is still telling me it's not the medication.
