Sarcoidosis and pulmonary hypertension

Hi everyone,

I just had my last lung checkup and the tests revealed something quite strange. Though my pulmonary function has increased steadily from 2009 onwards, I have developed pulmonary hypertension out of the blue. The condition is in its incipient stage. My doctor told me that it's because oxygen desaturation occurs with physical activity. Has any of you been diagnosed with this condition as a result of sarcoidosis? Also, do you take any medication or natural remedies for it?

I highly appreciate any details you can provide.

Thank you and a great day to all of you!!!

I am being tested for sarc and lymphoma. I had a 6 min walking test to check for PH. My rheumatologist thought I may have PH but my chest specialist said I dont have it. My oxygen levels desat after physical activity. My lung function test shoewd I have poor gas transfer.

      Hi Joan,

the 6 min walking test is done to see how much you desaturate and if you develop dyspnoea as a result of physical effort, and not to check for PH. The only way to check for PH is to have an echocardiography. The chest specialist isn't the one who determines whether you have or not pulmonary hypertention; the cardiologist does that.

Anyways, thank you for your input.

      Have a great day, smile
