I had this same type of flare up and was not able to sleep for 9 months.

A friend gave me a piece of chocolate with cannabis and it was like a miracle for me.  I talked to my rhuemy about it and he confirmed that I should try it.

I got a legal medical license for cannabis and buy chocolate bars.

never had a problem sleeping since then.

Hi Melanie, I echo your thoughts on this....used in the right way it would be so good for many of us. I doubt where I live they would ever allow it...I wish.

Hello dr.haidar, Have you had X rays or an MRI...that would be my first approach to this. When the specialist can see and interpret your MRI he/she may be able to help you. Also I would suggest and ECG to rule out any problems with your heart. I do hope that you can find some answers to your pain asap....meds and advice on daily life will help but you must get things started asap.

Hi dr-haidar i know just how you feel with this part of AS,it can be hell.

The only thing that gave me reliefe was morphine tabs & a oral solution.

Hello Nigel...yes this does happen with many of us...it feels like you've been hugged by a giant. Goes right around to the back. There are slow release patches available containing morphine...I tried them once and they gave instant relief and worked for a few days. here they are very expensive but they can be purchased on line at a much cheaper price. Just type in morphine patches on your computer. Good Luck.
