    Hi

Just wondering if you have experience with this??  If so, were you on a high dosage at the time?

My mum was given the wrong dosage for quite some time 40mg per week for 2 years, and then 60mg per week for about 3-4 weeks. She passed away not long after they realised the dosage was wrong (5 months later) so I am interested to know more.

    Thanks

    Sharnie

Hello, my dad took methotrexate for severe RA but it ended up destroying his lungs. He didn't receive any advice about the breathlessness being a possible side effect and so we didn't consult the doctor. It ended up killing him. We were told at the inquest that this only happens rarely and every case is different. Please just make sure you are given ALL the facts and contact your doctor immediately if you do get breathless after taking it. There should be a leaflet with an emergency helpline in case this should happen, make sure you get it.

So sorry, I mis_read the post and thought that you were thinking of taking the drug yourself, so sorry to hear about what happened to your mum. You have my sincerest sympathy and empathy. Dad wasn't given the wrong dosage like your mum but he had terrible adverse side effects which ended up being fatal.
