Sore throat for 3 years

Hi everyone, I am a 26 year old guy who do not smoke (anymore) and have no prior history of disease. Worked out regularly at a gym several days in the week before but now I have not been able to do this in a long time.My symptom is that I always have a sore throat behind the uvula / end of the nose were it goes over from the nose to the throat. Its a dry and tearing feeling that hurts alot and make my everyday life really hard.It was so long ago it started so I do not remember quite how it started but for me it was a cold that never really released. I've been to countless general practitioners and three throat specialists. I have done allergy tests, ruled out the different foods such as gluten and lactose, Twar Test, fusobakteriumtest, streptococcal test and more but without results and physicians shows no interest in solving the mystery. I have similar symptoms as TWAR as I can not exert myself physically but it gets much worse. In the effort, I feel directly in the throat that something is not right, and a few days later after a physical activity, I fall ill and get severely sore throat, headache, tired and sometimes mucus. This means that I now avoid any form of exercise or physical activity (which was a big part of my life before). Just after the slightest exertion I become so sick that I get to stay home from my work for days. Grateful for any input I can get on my symptoms and possibly a cure.

(sorry for the bad english, not my native tongue)

Kind regards

Alex

Hi. Have you ever looked at ME/CFS?

Post exertional malaise (PEM) is what u describe is key feature. sore throat is a symptom.

Does anything at all show in your throat?

    Any redness. Swelling anywhere?

Could it be Gerd? But that can be diagnosed with an endoscope up nose down throat they can see larynx. Pharynx. Etc.

GP cant see much. Have u seen ENT?

    Has your voice changed?

If i thought of 3 years with this pain in

    My throat. sad

      Hi Rhonda,

I have read about ME/CFS before and I really hope it isnt what I got but it looks more like it.

The doctors say my throat is a little bit red but nothing more.

I have done the endoscope through my nose a couple of times but they cant see anything. Only a little redness.

ENT= a specialist on ears, nose and throat? If it is yes. I have been to three different ENT-doctors.

I dont think my voice has changed.

I just started a new education and I have to stay home now, the 3rd day because of my damn throat and Im feeling very weak.

      Thanks for answering Rhonda.

Are u a smoker? Or have u smoked?

My mother was recently diagnosed with COPD. After seeing an ENT, nothing showed up. She is breathless. Do u have breathlessness?

I am just trying to show u to look at other things.

      Post nasal drip ?

      Snoring? Mouth breathing.

My sore throat is chronic lingual tonsillitis. It can be seen with 'scope.

Lasts about 14-18 weeks at a time.

I used to smoke. But my throat cant stand smoke anymore. When somebody smoke close to me I feel it in my throat and if I breathe in too much I get sick and get a sore throat for days.

I usually ride my bike to my work which is 15 min away and thats no problem. I dont get breathlessness or get sick by doing that. But there is a "line" and when I cross it, my body let me know.

Post nasal drip, I have read about this and I dont cough that much really and dont have much mucus.

I just feel like I have an infection all the time in my throat on the same spot and when I do something physical or, breath in smoke it get worse.

I have recorded myself sleeping, no snoring.

They have looked down my throat many times so they would have seen something by now if it was visable.
