Ufe emobilization after effects and experience

I had ufe procedure done 18 days ago. And now my leg feels numb not on the side that they made the incision but the opposite leg where my biggest fibroid sits in my uterus at 9cm. I also have bad pain on this side in my lower stomach. It's as is something is pulling and pressing. Sometimes the laundry so bad I can hardly take a step and the only relief I feel is when I lay down. Then the numbness begins in my left leg as well. My Radiolagy doctor has me down to see him in 6 months but I think I need to see someone before then. Is there anyone here that's experience this feeling of numbness in legs or otender pressure feeling. I also notice my stomach swells. I'm looking for a diet to help. If there's anyone here with suggestion on how to eat better or deal with the bloating please feel free to respond. Thank you God bless everyone of you living with fibroid only we know each others pain.

Hi Katie, I haven't done any oprations yet as I have a second opinion on 13 October, but since May I am eating vegan food which means no animal products at all! It was not easy at the begining but not impossible, I started cooking some nice food and I am enjoying it now, even my friends like my food. you just need to get of your rotine of the normal cooking. I feel a lot better after the vegan food, I even lost my stomach, and hoping that I do not have to do the EU! I hope that this helps,

Hi Katie. I had my UFE 4 weeks ago. I also experience leg pain on the side of my largest Fibroid, which is also 9 cm. However, my leg pain was present prior to my UFE. It's not a numb feeling, but a sharp pain. It usually happens at the end of my cycle...like now. I'm sitting here in pain as I type. Friday was the last "full" day of my cycle, yet this Fibroid and leg pain is aggravating. The pain pills I take will help with the Fibroid pain but does nothing for the leg. I was told that the Fibroid may be pushing down in a nerve. 6 months is a long time for a follow-up. I believe it should be 4-6 weeks. I think you should call your surgeon/radiologist to explain your symptoms. I had some concerns the week after my surgery. My surgeon was out of town. When he returned, he saw that I had spoken to some other doctors. He then called me to check on me. So, give him/her a call. Request an appt if you must. Better safe than sorry. 6 months is way too long. You are so right!! Only we know each other's pain. I love this forum!

Thank you so much for sharing and I will definitely be giving him a call first thing in the morning. I'm glad to know that there's also someone with the leg numbness. And what it's associate with. I have not had a cycle yet but maybe it's a sign it's coming. I was wondering if your stomach swells or if it's still tender? If so what do you take for it? I'm only taking Motrin now. And mirlax to make sure I don't get backed up again. TMI. Thank you and it feels good to have someone to talk to. Hopefully we can get each other through this. I have returned to work but in still so very tired after. I just want my energy back I am so looking forward to having a normal life again. Let's stay in touch.

My understanding is that the fibroids swell up after embolisation, probably because of associated inflammation. Mine seemed to get bigger before and during my period even after UAE but this improved with time.

Thank you. I didnt know that but it helps knowing that could be the problem. How long did it take for yours to stop swelling?

I saw a big improvement around 4 months and then since then gradual improvement.

By now, I hope you were able to get in to see a doctor. My stomach only swells during my cycle, which happened prior to my UFE. I don't feel tender to the touch. When I feel pain, it's only after I've done too much and the pain is inside. My menstrual pain is so bad, percocet was doing nothing for me. I had to see a pain specialist. He prescribed something stronger. I have to alternate between that and the not-so-strong prescription pain meds. Occasionally, I can take Tylenol. I, too, just want to be normal.

Thank you for sharing . I understand those pains you speak of. That's what made me get ufe. I'm 21 days in now and the pain has gotten less. But I still try not to do to much. I haven't had my cycle yet after having ufe. I'm so nervous of what the first one will be like. I'm glad I got the ufe procedure done but the road to recovery is not as easy as I thought it would be. Cranberry juice helped me with my terrible cramps in the past.

Cranberry juice helped with the cramping. I finally had something like a period it was very light more like spotting with all the cramps of a period. It only lasted 2 days. I'm very confused as to why it slowed down so much. But I hope it's a good thing. Your first period should be lighter as well. Thank you for sharing smile

Thank you for replying. My leg finally stop being numb feeling. I agree my doctor is to busy to listen to me. I am just taking care if myself by reading things online and exercising. I'm finally back on my bike although I still have deep pain in one side of my stomach. I'm on day 28 after having the procedure.
