dvt

went to see specialist and my scan results came back clear of underlying cancers which is good news though there were signs of PE in left lung. Still no diagnosis as to why i developed DVT in 1st place was informed i need to remain life long warfarin and that I was to have an echocardiogram done to see how right venticle is working . Still getting excess swelling on right leg whenever im walking for any length of time which as i have said before then takes days to subside again. All they said was it was probably down to damaged veins from having DVT in first place and i have to go back in 6 months if any further problems go A&E. got my appointment for echocardiogram on 21st October.

Hi Michelle, there are some facebook pages you might be interested in reading. Such as DVT & May Thurner, Thrombosis UK and DVT, PE & Thrombosis Awareness. There is lots of info and shared experiences to read and share.

Have you had an intervenous scan on your leg to look for scarring and symptoms of PTS?

    Sheila.

Where do you live?? Sometimes you have to be pro active to get things sorted as post DVT care can be almost nothing.

I am fine thanks. Have you had a look at the FB pages I suggested as people share their stories and that can be very imformative about what is out there. Venous scanning to detect post DVT scarring is pretty specialist and you need to go to big hosp with a good vascular dept. Have they done blood tests to check you for clotting disorders? Good luck with your ECG. Sheila.

Hi Michelle, Hope things are better for you. I would investigate Post thrombotic syndrome if you are still getting swelling. My son went to the main specialist hosp for this condition where he was treated. He saw Mr Black, Venous Consultant at Guy's & St Thomas London who is great for diagnosis, advice & treatment. Sheila.
