Anxiety

Well hello... I'm not sure where to begin here. But basically I'm going through what everyone else here is going through, but it's only been a month of having a swollen lymph node. I have it on the right side of my neck. On sept 1st the node was pretty large. My parents rushed me to the emergency room of course through worrisome and I got blood taken and CT scan. Everything came out fine except the fact that I have swolllen infected lymph node on the right side of my neck. They gave me antibiotics and steroids for it. The steroids was not mixing well with all my anxiety so stopped taking those, but after the antibiotics the node was still swollen. I went to see my actual doctor and he gave me "stronger" antibiotics. Took those and finished them and the node was still there. I visited a different emergency room where they just took blood from me and prescribed me more antibiotics. I just recently finished taking them and the node has gotten much smaller in size. The only thing is that I still have pain and there still a small lump. I keep touching it and my anxiety doesn't do me well. My doctor has told me a specialist might want to do a biopsy on the node and with my anxiety I do not think I will be okay if that happens. I suffer with a severe phobia of needles that everytime I get blood work or even a shot there has to be multiple people helping me keep calm and making sure my heart rate doesn't go up. I go to see my doctor for a follow up on the node tomorrow and I'm praying that he just tells me everything is gonna be okay so that my anxiety can be at ease. I need help and maybe someone to help calm me down or reassure to me that I will be okay.

We know how you feel!!!!! If you've already had a scan and blood work, doing a biopsy won't change anything except make your anxiety worse. I suggest working towards the root of your issue which is anxiety! That was the root of my issue - I started seeing a therapist and it helped so much

So at my doctors appointment he told me basically the next step from here was to go and get the biopsy done.. of course my eyes went straight to tears as I tried sooo hard for them not to. He gave me a deal. He told me that his daughter had the same thing and it took 2 months for hers to go away. Since my node reduced its size he's gonna give me another month for it to get better since I've only had this for a month. If it's not gotten better then I will need to go see the specialist. So right now I'm just praying and hoping my anxiety doesn't get the best of me and make all my symptoms worse.

I had a lymph node removed.  I just slept through it.  For me, taking a steroid makes any anxiety much worse.  Tell me how you did fand results.
