Getting worse

Hi fellow sufferers.  Suffered for 20 years on and off. Before Christmas  pain wasn't too bad but in early January, the pain started slowly getting unbearable. Specialists won't do anything because I'm deaf in one ear and poor hearing in the other plus I'm on the wrong side of 70 and only one kidney. I'm taking 2100mg of Gabapenton per day, which I'm told is less invasive than Tegretol etc., and even that doesn't really alleviate the pain. I'm about to start laser therapy and Vitamin B injections. Anyone had any experience in the above.

Thanks for reading

Do you mean vitamin B12? My mum had vitamin B12 injections and said that it was of benefit to you. I'm surprised about the "wrong side of 70" thing. My doctor here said he took no notice of age but only of the general health of the patient which might affect their ability to withstand an operation. (both mum and I have Tn )

Thanks for your reply. Sorry meant B12. Seeing another specialist in Melbourne. So maybe lucky this time.

Oh and also, I had Gamma Knife operation which is non-invasive and might be the thing for you also. It appears to have worked on me anyway. Regular surgery was out of the question because I have a metal heart valve and I am on Warfarin so they were worried about the bleeding factor giving me a stroke.
