HAS ANY BEEN TO ID AT ITHER ROYAL LIVERPOOLHOSPITAL OR NOTH MANCHESTER GENERAL

hi maisie, thanks for your reply. i have decided togo to both apts to give myself double the chance of someone listening. my apt at manchester is this friday and im realy hoping its worth going as the last thing i need is another specialist reporting back to my GP that they are dismissing lymes

hi maisie i went to mancester ID and thank god i decided to keep the liverpool apt aswell the doctor knew less than me about lymes. he couldnt answer how i could have a co infection in my system if i didnt have lymes and hadnt been bitten by a tick. he agreed i had to have been bitten by a tick as anaplasma is a tick infection but then said " if you dont remember a bite and didnt see a rash its not lymes" it didnt make any sence he was contradicting hiself. Its no wonder people realy struggle to get a dignosis and any form of treatment. I think doctors need to look at these forums and see the same stories and symptoms over and over again!

Hi Vicky. So was the Liverpool visit any more helpful? Are you having any treatment?

One of the GP's at my surgery works at the ID clinic at Manchester part time. I saw him last week and showed him my photos of the rash I had. He said it would be a very brave man to say it wasn't Lyme but he thought it more likely to be a fungal infection from an insect bite. And that I'd had the correct treatment if it was Lyme. Doxy for 3 weeks.  The rash is just about faded now, I've been using an antifungal cream. 

So many of the symptoms are similar to anaemia and menopause which I'm struggling with at the moment. So I'm trying to concentrate on dealing with that but it will always be in the back of my mind that it could be Lyme.

hiya im going to liverpool on wednesday will let you know how it goes. if you were treated with doxy when you had a bite/rash you have a very good chance of it not becoming chronic.i hope this is the case for you

hi maisie, glad to say the apt at liverpool ID could not have gone better so much better than the waisted visit to manchester! the doctor spent over an hour realy listening to my symptoms and clinical history. he has sent off bloods to porton down and is even arranged a full body scan ( im amazed after 3+ years of ignorant dismisive doctors who have talked over me and almost laughed off the idea of lymes that he took it seriously) im not expecting conclusive test results but at least 7 months after my positive co infection result someone has taken notice and realised i must have been bitten by a tick
